Not only is the bourbon great (BTAC, Pappy's, ect) but I think they deserve credit for the price of the current BTAC. Sure $60 for a bottle of bourbon is alot, but it seems like the going rate for primo bottlings these days it $80+ (Parkers, WTAS, WR4G).

I really appreciate BT not jacking the prices, even though they could sell every bottle of BTAC for $80...even though it might take a few weeks longer.

$60 for the best bourbon made is not bad, and looks like a steal compared to Scotch.

I 2nd this motion. Thank you for keeping it reasonable enough that I can go track down all 5 varieties of the BTAC and not break the bank. Not only 1 of each, but 2 of each...one to taste, one to keep. My hat is off!

I was just commenting on this very subject last Sat at a fellow SB.com member's place, (ACDetroit), over an '05 Stagg.

BT must be kicking themselves, because the Stagg would sell for a hell of a lot more than what they have it at now.

But maybe we shouldn't give them any ideas.

Indeed...

And given the initial BTAC release was priced at approximately 39.99 each, they've raised the prices just a 'tad' already:rolleyes:.

I suspect triple digit, or close to it pricing, in the not too distant future.

And before anyone flames me for whatever reason:skep: , I don't have a problem with BT's pricing policies, I just find it ironic for reasons I'll not get into here.

I think the pricing strategy is pretty standard. Low price on a high end product to encourage people to try it. As the following grows the price increases to match what's actually in the bottle.

Knob Creek did the same thing. I could buy it for $15 for the longest time, helluva deal, now I see it roughly 30 to 35 which I think is a more accurate price for the quality in the bottle. I can still find it if I try for 19 but i know those days are numbered.

It will suck if the BTAC does increase in pricing b/c I'd still like to get all 5 bottlings and I'm not the guy that can get cases of each to bunker.

The BTAC prices went up ~ 13% per bottle from last year. I'm not sure that consists of "holding down prices" with inflation running a lot lower  . It seems that high end bourbon is heading where SM scotch did some years back when supply/demand kicked in for aged products. Hopefully I'm wrong :skep: .
