Premium vodka

So what's the consensus here on the "premium" vodka craze? Is Grey Goose really that much better than Absolut? Should one kind of vodka really cost twice as much as another, or is it all a bunch of marketing hoopla?

There are several whole threads devoted to that subject but the most recent one is here and was pretty active until a few weeks ago, so I doubt anybody has much to add.

A friend of mine once said that decadence is the victory of style over substance. Premium vodkas are very decadent.

tito's is really nice. and if you have a sharp bourbon/whiskey enhanced tongue, yes, you can catch variations in flavor...very ghostly though...

i still like finlandia the best. but that is judging from 3+ years back...

alot of the hype is bottling, image...i love Van Gogh, but i am talking about the paintings, not the vodka..................
