Christmas wish bottle(s)

I never get bourbon for Christmas unless I buy it. Every year I get a great bourbon on Christmas day and the tag reads "To Joe from Joe".

Well, down to Parker's now. Went on a spree in Denver and picked up a couple of 07 Staggs, a 07 WLW and an American Spirit. While at Donaldson's I asked if they could order me a Parker's and the distributer was there and hadn't even heard of it. We went to the office and tried to find it on HH website with no luck and then I had them come here and do a search and couldn't find it here either!!! I know we've posted on it, just don't remember what the thread was. And I wasn't about to suggest any alternate sites.

In terms of 'wish list', I almost bought myself a gift of WTAS today to bring home, wrap and put under the tree. The $90 + tax was a bit too steep at this time of the month though. It sure had my mouth watering though as I left the store empty-handed.

Still have not seen it anywhere in the western regions of Tennessee where I do most of my 'cattin around' for bourbon. Speaking of my wish bottle, in the stores I was able to visit today I saw Rittenhouse 21 - and 23 - but not in the same store. Now I am both confused and ignorant.......did not know there was both ages. Which is better? Which is scarcer? Are these one-offs or will there be more.....anybody know?

23 has just been released, I think the 21 was released about 18 months ago, just shy of it's 22nd Bday. There was much less of the 23 produced 25 barrels vs. 32 barrels of 21yo.

both ryes are from the same batch, made in October 1984.

What were the prices you saw on them?

I know what I am getting because I picked it out.

We were in a shoe store this evening and my four year old son, Joe, wanted to buy me a present for Christmas. However, most shoe stores in Japan don't stock anything in my size. That's OK, because when that didn't work out he offered to buy me some whisky for Christmas. Of course, his mother paid. I saw a bottle of Wild Turkey for just under 5000 yen that I thought would look just dandy under the Christmas tree. Especially since I just finished off my bottle of it a couple of weeks ago and had no plans of replacing it.
