Jono
My deceased father used to smoke a pipe...and I have fond memories of that wonderful aroma...I recall the brand he picked up most often was Double Eagle...probably due to price and flavor. I found this website from the mfg. ..Sterling Tobacco Company:http://www.sterlingtobaccoco.com/sterling.html"Double Eagle (Light Aromatic) Our most popular light aromatic. Delightfully mild and cool with an aroma that pleases everyone. This blend is 100% plug cut burleys."Are there any pipe smokers familiar with this mix? TBoner
I've not had it, but Burleys are notoriously nutty and are often used for blending with Virginias to prevent "tongue bite," as they are a mild smoke. I like a healthy percentage of Burley in my blends, as it brings out fruity and nutty components of whiskey. I have never, however, smoked a 100% Burley tobacco.
