I bought a bottle of Woodford. I remembered it as a good drink. Boy has it gone downhill. I also bought a 6 pack of Coopers' Stout. Always liking a good boiler maker I tossed in a shot of Woodford in a glass of Coopers and wasted a good stout. Never buy Woodford again is my lesson for the day.

Other lesson of the day - you don't need to add anything to Aussie beers! They're already perfect the way they are

Woodford has it's moments for me. They are few and far between, but it has it;s moments.

My moments are when they are free on Delta Airlines.

Woodford is enigmatic in a world of mass production consistency.

I love that batches and quality vary. It is after all, art and not science that drives the master distiller.

There's something to be said for fleeting supplies of the good stuff, intermixed with "other" stuff.

I never knew which toy I would get in my Cracker Jacks and that added to the fun of buying it.

(Damn, temporary tattoos again)

I try Woodford more often than I do other products in the same price range, because I yearn for the one with coconut finish, that I've gotten only twice in ten years.

I haven't had a bottle of Woodford since it first came onto the Aussie market 5 or 6 years ago. It was a great tasting bourbon that I remember, so all the talk of bad batches has made me hesitate to buy another.

I recently received a beautiful Woodford Reserve copper nip pourer for my birthday....(thanks Scott)....so now I feel I have to buy a bottle to try again and to put the pourer into

There is some variation from batch to batch, that's all. As Ed says, that's a good thing. Same basic profile though (since batch 90 anyway), IMO.

My experience has been the opposite...the first bottle i ever tried a couple years ago was terrible. I really considered it one of my least favorite bourbons. I never had planned to purchase it again but received another as a gift. This was was really great and now I know that it can be good, but still a bit gun shy about dropping the $ for it.

I'm with RedVette, sitting on a Delta plane is the only time I ever drink WR.

Seems like it belongs in a plastic cup, too.

That being said, the last one I had was pretty enjoyable, I must admit. If you only have a choice between bottom shelf cognac and upper bottom shelf bourbon, it's gotta be bourbon every time. I guess loyalty is big with me

Cheers!
