A very good list of top quality bourbons....I have not had all of them..but most are ones I would agree with.

Nothing new to those on this board, and there are a few actual errors in the story. No mention of Stagg, Handy or the Van Winkles?

The story seems to have been written in early 2002, before Stagg existed, long before Handy, but as to why Van Winkle was left out is a mystery.

To echo jones and turtle, I find it astonishing that no VW product is listed. A list of 12 should have at least 2 or maybe even 3 VW expressions IMHO. Maybe the age of the list (2002) tells the tale. Some of the ones on the list are standing the test of time, some appear not to be......that is, in terms being in a "Top 12" list. Maybe a top 25 would be more appropriate for some these in an updated list......just a thought.

A little surprised to see McKendric on the list...the thread on it here is not too favorable.

Well, it does say "Unforgettable", the McKendric is unforgettable, just not in a good way.:puke:

Never heard of it......which is probably a good thing.

It is a "neat" leather wrapped bottle that is painted and quite unique...but not a bourbon, rather a self proclaimed "western style whiskey" was pretty pricy for what it was and more of a novelty

The article sounds as if it was written by the marketing depts of the various producers and does not appear as if the author has actually sampled the whiskies himself.
