OscarV
Q: What should I buy in Ontario?A: A plane ticket to Louisville. But seriously, from the 6 you listed I would go with the Bulliet. But if you are new to bourbon then start with the WT80.I see those prices for average bourbon, (MM, WR, JBB) and I see how good I got it.If you are close to the USA border come over and then go back but before leaving the USA stop at the Duty Free shop. They have Wild Turkey 101 with the 8 year old age statement. It is so good. It has a sweetness that only WT Kentucky Spirit has.We can't get 8 year old any more.It is only $19.00 for a one liter.
Gillman
Q: What should I buy in Ontario?A: A plane ticket to Louisville. That's almost as good as Ed's joke about the yardarm! But seriously, in Ontario, we have some good ones. Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek, Bulleit. If one has those available in the bunker, one is living well. (And the rest mentioned aren't shabby by any means).Gary
Repro777
I first tried the WT80, and like it. Nice and smooooth. I'm sure its a good starting point, so I'll explore from here. One error I made, the bottles are all 750ml, not 745, lest you think we have odd ball sized bottles up here! gr8erdane
I'd figured that maybe they'd given Gary 5 ml out of every bottle to vat...
Gillman
Well, now that you suggest it, Dane ... How about starting with 2/3rds Beam White and the rest Knob Creek - or one-third each Beam Black, KC and Beam White, and you've got two different takes right there on what Beam puts out for sale, and you haven't even left the distillery premises. squire
Hey Dane, Gary, I had a vatting tonight of one half once each of Dickel no. 12, Jack Daniels black, Rittenhouse bond and Elijah Craig. Actually I drank them separately and achieved an internal vatting, but I am beginning to get the theory.Squire
