What was the answer to Chuck's original question? I just saw some today ($9 for a liter--cheap!) and it made me come back to this thread. Has anyone tasted present-day bottlings?

I'm currently trying to do a wheated bourbon rebarrel experiment and I've got cheap wheaters on my mind.

I don't know if we ever answered this question . . . from talking and general perusal on the board, I was under the impression that Cabin Still was a rye-recipe now . . . I recently bought a liter because it was super cheap and I have a soft spot for those traditional labels and names. I expect it not to be very excellent, but before I opened it, I thought I might put the feelers back out on this one. I'm sure if it is a wheater I will like it more than a rye recipe (don't know what makes me draw that conclusion), but you just never know. Thanks, everyone.
