melting
If you got a couple hundred bucks you could buy the one that's been sitting on the shelf up my way for the last year or so.Chris

B1bomber
If anyone's looking, I've seen several Pappy 23s in recent days. One place is Shoppers Vineyard in Clifton, NJ., for around $200. I think they ship just about anywhere.Another is Berkeley Wine Co., in Berkeley Heights, NJ. I didn't see a price but they have a stash of about 10 bottles behind glass. I am still hunting for some 23 yr myself :fish2:They had the 23 year also, but my wife was already staring at me with the look, if I had of placed that bottle ($180.00) in the cart I am sure she would have put me in a home for the befuddled!Russellc

bigtoys
Nice buy. Reminds me a little of my avatar. There's Pappy 23 around here, too. I'm waiting for the next bottling--some say spring, others fall this year. Anyone know?

Tracy Hightower
There is a PVW 23 on E-Bay right now for a Buy it now price of $229.95.That is about $30.00 cheaper than I have ever seen it here in TN.http://cgi.ebay.com/Pappy-Van-Winkle-23-Year-Old-Bourbon-Family-Reserve_W0QQitemZ260207926210QQihZ016QQcategoryZ13916QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
OscarV
I can get it in MI for $214.99 plus 6% sales tax, which come to $227.89.I am suprised that MI is cheaper than TN on this.

The distributors -- private businessmen -- are monopolists by legislative fiat, and take advantage of the fact. Then, add the almost-10% sales tax...:hot:

Jazzhead
I've seen it, very rarely, in South Jersey for about $180 or so. My bottle of the 20 year old is running dangerously low, and I can replace that for less than $80. So the question is - is the 23 -year old worth the difference in price? I'm gonna drink the stuff, not just admire it!
libertybar
I'd say that the 23yr IS worth it.....well, unless it's $250 or something. That said, it really is an outstanding treat, so I'm going to go back on that and suggest that maybe that $250 is worth it in the long run... I am going to enjoy it 20+ times.
