Anything of Note In KOREA?

OK, so I've searched and I know I've been through this routine before so I am going to start a thread which I know will die quickly; therefore I do apologize in advance. My roommate may be going home to Korea as soon as Wednesday night. Does anyone know if there is anything worth bringing home available in Korea?

A last resort of course would be a Blanton's SFTB or Gold from Duty free since I do not belive WT has any DF offerings right now. But I'd really like to have something else, like Four Roses Platinum, Fighting Cock 15, EW15, etc. etc. You get the idea.

I don't know if we have any members or anyone who travels there so this may be completely futile but I am not letting it go without an effort. Thanks.

Haven't been since the fall, but at that time duty free was carrying lots of sizes of WT 8 year old (haven't seen 12 year old at DF for a couple years now; same with Four Roses Superpremium/Platinum.) Jack Daniels is well-represented at Incheon with Monogram, Silver Select and occasionally Gold Medal bottles.

I've never seen the others you mention in DF, but they're all available in stores in Japan, so maybe they make it to Korea as well.

Good luck!

I was thinking not only duty free but actual liquor stores in Korea...

Christian,

Do what I did for my brother in law. Go to an international liquor store site like The Whiskey Exchange. Make a list of the one's you'd love and copy the pictures to a word document. He took the list I printed off into the store he was able to shop at :) (I did of course put them in order of preference :) )

I highly reccomend sending the hard copy picture if you don't want to get a $165 bottle of something that is available here for $60! Yeah....that's happened to me too!! Unfortunately, my international travelers have all changed jobs and are no longer traveling :(

I started working on that last night Dawn, great idea.

Next week two counterparts from our UK offices are coming to St Louis for meetings, I only wish I knew them well enough to ask them to bring me something but alas I do not. If our projects in SoCal were delayed longer I may had been heading there for an assignment. but unfortunately our jobs are going to be kicking off by early-mid February. :banghead:
