Highland Park 21

Just tried the new Highland Park 21, duty free. A friend returning from London picked it up for me. Very, very nice! One of the best HP’s I’ve tried. Very smooth and just the right amount of smokiness. Nice mouth feel and good finish. Even my wife liked it, and that’s saying a lot!

I always try to keep a bottle of the HP 18 year open; I savor it slowly for it is a sublime and precious example of single malt scotch. To say the least, I could dig a bottle of the 21 while listening to some Coltrane tonight!

What I am drinking tonight is I W. Harper, and, y'know, that hits the spot too! :cool:

If you are able to find one, I'm sure you will like, especially if you like other Highland Parks. Be fore-warned, though, that the price will be around $100-120.

I may have to try the 21yo version in the near future. The HP 18 is one of my all time favorites. Not so hip on their 12yo version but the 18yo is lights out baby!

I agree HP18 is a fabulous SMSW. I have tried some of their 25-30ish year old cask strengths as well from Park Ave and those are really great as well. The HP21 sounds very appleaing. Any idea of cost?

I've never had the HP21 - its price outstrips my budget - but the 18YO is hands-down my desert-island single malt Scotch Whisky. It really has it all - honey, spice, salt, just about any flavor you could want in a SMS, it has. And the fun part is, they don't blend! One flavor hits you, then another, then another, in rapid-fire succession. That, I think, is what makes HP18 outstanding and unique.
