A New Old Charter on the Horizon?

I spoke with a BT rep in December; he mentioned that there might be a new addition to the Old Charter line this summer. I've heard that the 12 and 13 are not going to survive and are no longer on the website, but has anyone heard anything about a new OC?

Some of us tasted what was labelled "Charter Reserve" (or, was it "Old Charter Reserve"?) in the BT lab a couple of springs ago. But, it was a blended whiskey designed to compete with the likes of Crown Royal (which is why I remember it as "Charter Reserve" -- the "CR" imagery seemed deliberate).

Otherwise, I doubt there's a new Charter bourbon coming, since it's all BT can do to supply the current bottlings.

I had the 13 yr... and did not think it made the cut for a remake... I may be in the minority...

I had forgotten about that Charter Reserve Tim. Probably because the sample we tasted didn't inspire me to make any purchase when it is released. As I recall, it was in a nice package too. I'm surprised it isn't out yet as that was perhaps two years ago (?).

The Charter blended product is out and on shelves as of last year....mid year or so.

I also was told by a distributer that something new was on the way from the Trace. He did not let on what it was though. We talked a couple of weeks ago.

I wonder if it is the new Cream Of Kentucky.

In August of 2005 Ken Weber of Buffalo Trace said that a new COK will be out in 12 to 18 months. It has been 30 months now.

But whatever it is I know we'll all be interested.
