cowdery
Here's what I just learned from a BT source I ran into in a bar earlier this evening. Weller is not discontinuing Antique or 12-year-old or anything else. I didn't ask specifically about Centennial but I think it's already been confirmed that's going. Anyway, they're simply out of whiskey, i.e., all of the wheated bourbon that is allocated for Weller and old enough for the various expressions has been bottled and sold. There won't be any more going into the pipeline until another batch comes of age and can be bottled. Don't know exactly when that will be, but it's measured in months, i.e., a few months. Now that doesn't mean there isn't whiskey in the system, i.e., on retailer shelves and in distributor warehouses, but there is no more in the finished goods warehouse at BT and there won't be for several months. It's similar though not quite the same as the Dickel situation. This may well be another sign of the times, i.e., something we need to get used to.
