craigthom
Last week on the way to Chicago I took a short detour and visited the Three Floyds "brewpub". They call it that. It's a small bar and restaurant attached to their brewery in an industrial park, so it's big on the "brew" and fairly small on the "pub".They had many of their own beers on tap as well as several guest pours. I tried a few, but I had several miles to go before reaching Downers Grove, so I didn't have as many as I would have liked. The most interesting was the Alpha Kong, which they call a Belgian sextuple. It's 16% ABV and tasted very strongly of banana. I also had the Dreadnaught, an imperial IPA, and the Gumballhead, a wheat beer, because I really needed one that was under 5% ABV. wintermute
"Dreadnought" might be the best name for an Imperial IPA that I've ever heard! Now someone needs to make a "Bellerophon" Imperial Stout!
