ggilbertva
Bird,Flip the bottle over and see if you see a two digit date on the bottom. Also, tell me the UPC number. If its 88508 (OF) or 88076 (ND) then it is SW. If the UPC is 96749, then not SW as that's a HH UPC. Also, can you tell if its a faux tax stamp or a real one? drunkenjayhawk
Wow according to the upc things I just picked up a 750ml and 1L Old Fitz prime and a BIB 1 L. Also got a distilled in 1971 OGD Mini (bottled in 1978), can't wait to give it a taste. cowdery
Tax stamping stopped in the early 1980s, although different producers stopped at different times over a several year period.
ggilbertva
Thanks for the clarification. I made that point on another site just last night. Early 80's saw the removal of real tax strips but distilleries continued the use of tax strips (faux) as a tamper evident measure. Once TE caps came into being and were adopted by the distilleries, the faux strips went away.
