LeoDLion
Hi everybody, this is my first day posting. I post at the Whisky Magazine forum and somes PeatFreak but this is my first day here. I bought this big bottle of Ardbeg Mhor which is 4.5L. I have not opened it perhaps saving it for a very special occasion. Has anybody tasted this expression? LeoDLion
It may be true that I am the only one in the US with a bottle of Ardbeg Mhor? Oh my...
ACDetroit
Although I do not have the Mhor I did buy the 16 year old and found it amazing. Tony
sku
Where did you get it? I wasn't aware that it was available in the US.I'm a big Ardbeg fan, but, regrettably, lots of their bottlings never make it to us.

sku
Just a stroke of good luck. I sent you a PM.LeoLucky you. Let us know how it is.I was lucky enough to have a friend bring me an Ardbeg Almost There from her trip to the UK...good stuff. It's a pity we can't get more of their stuff here. They just released a new committee bottling that is, of course, not available to US commitee members.

They just released a new committee bottling that is, of course, not available to US commitee members. The new release is called Ardbeg Corryvreckan, I believe named after some body of water between Islay and Jura. Its only for committee members, one bottle per member and not being shipped to the US. But it will cost about GBP 45 per bottle.Yes, we are unfortuntely not able to receive this unless it shows up in Ebay.

LeoDLion
Nice bottle. Wish the size was legal here. So, do you have any interest in bourbon?..:skep:I tried it even before scotch. I did not take a liking to it at that time and even now. But if its an acquired taste, I should try some bottles and I will. I will absolutely not mix it with anything and take it neat. Perhaps a piece of ice during the summer should be nice. You said the size is not legal. I asked our local store and they also said they can not import such size. But how come I see large bottles in bars? You know what I mean, the oversize bottles of Chivas, etc. that are mounted upside down. Perhaps importing such large bottles is okay for commercial use? AVB
The Mor is a special release and is not available in the US. According to Ardbeg: A limited release of Ardbeg to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our 1997 renaissance. Mor is the equivalent of more than six bottles of 10 Years Old, but here bottled at cask strength (57.3% ABV). In Gaelic, Mor means ‘big’ or ‘magnificent’ – perfect for marking the re-birth of the biggest name in Islay malts.1,000 bottles were originally released. Priced at £350. Priced at £350.Yes, I felt left out whenever a special release happens and we here in the US can not get it. These guys over there they just phone in or order it from the internet and it arrives in a week or so without any problem. Our only recourse is to buy it from Ebay for a hefty price or order it abroad and take the chance.
