How long does it typically take for a distiller to pull barrels, process it, bottle it and get it into the distribution pipeline until it shows up on store shelves? 3 months? 6 months?

I've only participated in one barrel purchase and I think we had it in under 5 months after selection or a little less than 3 months after bottling. I'm sure all of this may vary from distillery to distillery, from distributer to distributer though, etc...

When I bought my barrel of Van Winkle Lot B several years ago, I picked the barrel in early August and it was delivered to me the week of the Festival in September (five weeks later). And it only took that long as Julian was waiting on those cognac shaped bottles to arrive from France. Yes, they come from France (or did).

The prime number is three weeks. Of course, we wish this were true life but it's our goal. We have been on overtime + occasional Saturday's for so long I can't remember what a regular 8 hour shift feels like! I'm not complaining cause the pay is great, I really like my job but it gets old after a. couple of years. Hopefully, this

new J-line will create relief soon :)
