Last Year at Christmas A friend of Mine gave me a bunch of stuff from his grandfathers house and in with an old Neuweiler Beer light was a Pottery Bottle of Jim Bean 100 Proof Bourbon green tax seal says Distilled in spring 1967 the year I turned 20 years old and was working for Continental, and Bottled in fall of 1971 the year I left Continental sealed yet. I put it in my Bunker and forgot all about it till yesterday. Not having drank Bean Back then I am wondering if this was a time when they were really making some good stuff. I have not yet decided when I will open it but got a kick out of its distilling date being 60 going on 61 and I was 20 years old then. I would think it is very good Bourbon but am writing to find out a little bit about Jim Bean Products those days. My Dad drank a good bit of Bean in the 1970's. I having worked for Continental did not want any Bourbons or whiskey's other than are brands then I liked them and I liked my Job!

My guess is.....really good.

Old school distilling methods and lower barrel proof and distilling proof. Should equal high flavor.....hope the seal is still working properly.

Let us know what you think.......what 'cha waitin' fer?

Jeff just brought the bottle out and I was wrong about one thing its bottle date is spring 1975 not 1971 so it is 8 year old Bourbon Spring 1967 Distilled Bottled spring 1975! Distilled at Dsp KY 230 Cermont KY. 100 Proof! 4/5 Quart seal holding great! I will have to break it open soon and give it a test!
