Is there a complete list of DSP's that shows those currently in operation, shuttered operations and changes in ownership? Possibly I am just not looking in the right place.

I was recently trying to determine if DSP-KY-14 is still open and distilling. I gather this is/was an OGD operation that transitioned from ND to Beam. I have a bottle of Old Bourbon Hollow BIB that is marked "Distilled and Bottled at DSP-KY-14" and was wondering if this is a current bottling and what relationship this bourbon may have (flavor, quality, etc) to the OGD BIB.

TIA

Look here. It doesn't have every ownership change, but it's the best there is, so far. Roger did a great job on it.

Bourbon Hollow is and has been a Beam product since well before the purchase of National Distillers...which would indicate that the age of that bourbon is no older than 1987 when Beam acquired the facility.

And yes, the DSP 14 plant is a beehive of activity, though I don't believe they have a still there. No tours though.

As a second thought....the juice could be some National product...just thrown together by Beam. Does it have an age stated?

They were known to have put some very old barrels into odd labels....just to get rid of it.

Is there a back label, tax stamp or TE cap, bottle date(bottom of bottle) or Gov. warning...to help with identification?

No tax stamps, no markings on the bottom of the bottle, on the bottle side in the glass is SG 24 544, UPC is 8068601740, signiture is John W. Sims, gov warning on the back label, etched/printed very small on the side of the bottle ner the bottom is LL7567268TT0909

Alright, now we've got some things....

Government warning get's us up 1989...

80686 is a definite Beam signiture....

Well, from the info that I could find...I would say that it is probably from 1988 or 1990 bottling of products. Beam stops listing Bourbon Hollow as a Bottled in Bond in 1982, which is strange. They continue listing it as KSBW after that.

Unless Beam bought some bourbon for BH Bib in the early '80's...it is probably post sale National bourbon. It looked to be fairly dark from the pictures you took. Could be very tasty stuff.
