DowntownD
pretty good stuff, the juice those Van Winkles and Beams put out: picked up the VWFRR today, quite tasty. my first bottle of straight Rye. I like it. will have to try some of the other usual suspects now. picked up the Baker's yesterday, it's pretty good too. my friend remarked that it goes down real easy, and I have to agree. DowntownD
the VWFRR is really good, and is disappearing quickly. and (now that I've read a bunch about it here via the search engine) I see I'm going to have to stock up given its limited allotment each year. anyone have an older bottle available, like an A or B series? I don't have anything in particular in mind to trade, but maybe there's something I can get that you can't? Hit me up if anyone is interested in such a trade, or selling one outright. this one I've now had nearly half of is an I series (I4250 to be exact); it's very tasty and what I was looking for in a bold-flavored sense. the Sazerac 18 sounds interesting, as does the Thomas Handy. are these, too, available from the usual online vendors? anyway, it's easy to see how there's a Rye movement, so to speak, of its own. thanks again, members of SB, for sharing such great information ad creating a new customer all in one shot. the brands out there better LOVE you fine people. mgilbertva
the Sazerac 18 sounds interesting, as does the Thomas Handy. are these, too, available from the usual online vendors?Saz 18 (there's a 6yo Saz out there affectionately known as "baby Saz") and Handy are part of BTAC (Buffalo Trace Antique Collection). If you do a search for any of those names here you'll come up with a ton of information. They disappear very quickly when they are released in fall, so you'll likely have a hard time finding them online. They are available in some municipalities, so be sure to check your local market as well.Best of luck!
