wildcatdon
I sent an email to their site asking where to buy some 10yr old 107 proof and some 15 yr old Pappy....Julian said the 10 yr old wont be available until Aug or Sept..He thought the Beverage Warehouse might have some 15 yr old...Anyone know where either of these can be found in Louisville? I especially want the 10yr 107...Thanks...
drli
Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon is always hard to come by. When its available on the shelves... I suggest you buy all you can. Because when its gone, its gone for the entire year.Last year I had to go to 3 bevmo.com stores to get 2 bottles of 10y 107p and 2 bottles of 13y FRR. I passed, at the time, on the 15y thinking that would stay in the stores longer. but I was wrong, within 2 days the 15y was also sold out.just get ready to get some this year!! That's where I bought one back about a month and a half ago at The Sampler. Some other guys found some at other stores in the Bardstown area.-Joe
ThomasH
The liquor store on route 245 between Clermont and Bardstown had some in April when I went to the sampler, although the price was a steep 40.00. Also try Evergreen liquors to the east of 31/150. I bought mine at World liquors (I think thats the name) about a block or 2 east of 31/150 in Bardstown!Thomas
TNbourbon
...although the price was a steep 40.00...Thomas, sadly, I don't think that price will be 'steep' soon. The VW Lot B went from $30 to $40 almost overnight around here a year or so ago. Ditto with the VW rye, which is now $45-ish. I used to buy it for $30 regularly. And, alas, I don't think it's exclusive to Van Winkles. Anything in limited quantity or high demand is going to catch dramatic price hikes. It's not just 'gouging' on the part of the distillers/distributors, it's a function of the marketplace -- prices have to go up so that limited, existing stock lasts longer.Thankful am I that I came to this whiskey world early enough to enjoy some bargains. Sad will I be when they are gone.
ThomasH
I agree that prices will only rise. In April, I bought 2 bottles of ORVW 10/107 for 55.00 at that world liquor store in Bardstown. Everywhere else wanted 35.00-40.00 a bottle. I too have been accumulating bottle for several years and have gotten plenty on sale or quite reasonable!Thomas
bromike666
Can anyone tell me where I can order some 13yo FRR on the internet at a decent price? The only local CA (Mission Liquors) store I can find that has stock is charging $88.00 a bottle.
