vintage 21/23 Rye

Saw this today at the BevMo here in LA. I have had the Vintage Bourbons, anyone have the Ryes yet? And can compair it to the Bourbons?

I haven't had the full range of the bourbons but I have had both of the rye...if I were buying one, I get the younger of the two...hold, on...I did get the younger of the two...damn I'm good.

Basically, if you've got a craving for an extra aged rye, that one will fill that need every bit as well as the Sazerac 18, Van Winkle or Hirsch products will. It's good and perfectly drinkable in the same way the others are.

Vintage Ryes have been reviewed very positively. I sampled some in Bardstown and remember liking them very much - I just haven't gotten around to buying some yet. I liked the late-teen expressions better than the over 20 crowd for both the rye and bourbon. For a 23 yr rye go with the Willetts.

Picked up a bottle today, for what I think is a pretty good price (~$80)... compaired to the $99 to $139 I have seen it going for.. Be fun to compair it to the Vintage bourbon 23yr as well

I think that's close to the going price for the 23yo here in the Derby City...which one did you get?

I got the 23yr... yeah I thought the price was close to KYs price, but that includes shipping for me... so I have to like that

Did not have the option... only the 23yr was available... what are your thoughts on them both?

The Vintage Bourbon 23yr is better than the 21yr...

While it may be that the whiskey that was in the initial batch of the 21yo has now reached the 23yo, the first batch of the 23yo was quite overaged to my palate, with the 21yo still showing a remarkable vitality.

The 21 rye is fantastic !!!!
