rocky480
While I was out of town this week, FedEx was kind enough to deliver my Cadenhead's bottling of Glen Mhor 19 year distilled in August 1976 (finally, a true anniversary distilling as the last turned out to be from March not August of '76). A very nice end to a successful business trip!
ebo
I picked up a bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh today. I love this stuff. I haven't sampled anything form this distillery that I don't like.
AVB
Got a bottle of Inchmurrin 12 for the collection. I now only need one more to complete my goal of having a representative bottle of every SMS distillery that produced since 1956. 127 by my count, 126 down - one to go. ggilbertva
VA ABC has the Bushmills 1608 on clearance so I picked up a bottle. Before, the price was somewhat prohibitive but on sale....I went ahead and pulled the trigger.
AVB
My Balvenie Cuban Selection finally came in yesterday. Released only in France last year it took me quite some time to find a contact and get one.

ggilbertva
My Balvenie Cuban Selection finally came in yesterday. Released only in France last year it took me quite some time to find a contact and get one. Hmmm...the rum finishes tend to scare me away. I've had a couple that I didn't much care for. If you open it sometime soon, let me know your thoughts. I really like the Balvenie line so this one is intriguing.
AVB
Really? I've liked almost all the ones I've had starting with the Glenfiddich Havana Reserve, Balvenie Golden Cask, Balvenie Rum Wood 14 and the Macnamara Rum Finish. The one that I thought did disappoint was the Balvenie Rum Cask 17, certainly not as good as the Rum Wood of three years earlier.I do have plans to open this one at a get together in July. Hmmm...the rum finishes tend to scare me away. I've had a couple that I didn't much care for. If you open it sometime soon, let me know your thoughts. AVB
Well I did take care of his lawn for the last 5 or 6 years of his life before he passed on but it was still very unexpected and appreciated. Stuff like that doesn't happen to me. I must not have that "give this guy the just found rare whiskey" face. Congrats on the collection - very impressive. ACDetroit
Not today but last weekend in Houston I grabbed a couple bottles of Laphroaig 10 year old pre Prince of Wales days. One has been placed in the bunker and the other was traded to a good friend! Tony
jinenjo
This one was given to me by my neighbor's daughter after cleaning out his house. 1963 or 64 12 yo old and the fill level is still upper shoulder. Can you tell me how you dated it so closely to those years? I've come across some '50s, '60s or '70s bottles and can't always be accurate, even to which decade. American bottles are much more obvious. With Scotch I've mainly depended on the foil closure/seals to give me a rough estimate.Nice find, BTW. Have you opened it yet?

boss302
Managed to score an SLO of the Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX (Pedro-Ximenez). This is rumored to be the King of all Sherry-FINISHED (not exclusively Sherry matured) whiskies! I have no tasting notes as of yet, since I'm waiting for a special occasion to crack it open!
