That is actually a really good price for the MaC 18.... It runs $155 +tax here....:smiley_acbt:

I was thinking the same. It's running around $160 plus tax around here, so not a bad deal really.

Coming over the border today I grabbed a 1L Caol Ila 12 yr for $58

How has the relocation to Canada been going for you, anyway? And nice pick-up on the Caol Ila 12. I love that stuff!

Thanks for asking. The relocation went well, I'm just still reeling from the sticker shock I experience every time I go to spend what's left of my paycheck after the gov has had its 45% take. Alcohol can be 30-100% higher and groceries are on average 30% higher with an added 13% sales tax on top of that (also paying 3 times as much for car insurance which has gone from $435 to $1210/yr). I guess the real problem here is that retail prices haven't adjusted to reflect the strong Can$. If the Can$ was still at $0.70 USD then I'd understand some of the differential.

Talisker 10. That stuff just keeps getting more expensive. Counted myself lucky to find a bottle at under $60.

That's Diageo for you.

It's killing me too. Goes for $70 in Ontario. I really enjoy this one and have always felt a need to have a bottle on hand but I'm starting to question that now.

Connecting through Dallas airport yesterday I saw a buy 2 for $80 at the duty free. Already past my limit, I had to walk away from the getting Talisker 10 and Caol Ila Liters for $40 a piece :hot:.

This is not today, but... was running around the gettos of Detroit last month and stopped by a store and picked up this gem. Does anybody know when the bottle change happened? I believe is was mid 1990's?

Can't answer your question but very cool pick-up of one of my all-time favorite single malts. Have you cracked it open yet? I'd be curious to hear your opinion on how it stacks up against current bottlings of HP12.

Not yet. Already have a bottle of HP12 open, along with way too many other SM's. Need to start "thining the herd" before I open this one. Will keep some of the existing HP12 around to do little side x side.

The Edrington Group took over Highland Park in 1999 so the bottle change occurred shortly after that in late 2000 or early 2001 AFAIK.

I picked up some Isle of Arran Robert Burns single malt. I love this whisky: light, lively, sweet. The nose reminds me of bubble gum, while the flavours are of fruit and vanilla.

While doing some hunting last night, I hit one store that had 2 bottles (liter) of Paddy Old Irish on the shelf. For $27 each, I was more than happy to take them home.

Picked up a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail yesterday, one I've been wanting for a while.

Great stuff! Cheers!

I dropped by my local store to get a bottle of Dickel 12 and I happened to see a bottle I haven't seen in quite a while... Carduh 12. Obviously, I had to buy it.
