I tell you if we could try before we buy in Georgia like that I'd be a much poorer man.

I hear ya, Rich. I really need to nip this is the bud. That's all I need now, is to be chasing SM's.

We might need to work out a try-before-you-buy GBS offshoot where everyone picks a bottle from a list and then we get together for sampling. We kind of do that with bourbon at GBS meetings but hell, 50%-75% of that stuff you can't really get readily anyway.

Just a thought.

Picked up a Redbreast cask strength at Binnys this week, excellent whiskey.

Didn't know they had it yet...Thanks. What's the abv for this batch?

Exactly. 57.7% of liquid beauty. I was a little upset with the Naperville Binnys. I only had the opportunity to visit that location. I was interested in the ETL and WSR Binnys's selections, but neither of those had any markings designating them as barrel selections. I inquired and no one had a definite answer either way.

But, I turned around and saw the Redbreast cask strength and all was well. The only problem is that I only bought the one and by the time I headed home it was half gone.

I read Davin's review on Canadian Whisky and decided to pick up a couple bottles of Pendleton 1910 12 y/o rye.

Replenished my Te Bheag and Aberlour 10. The Aberlour is becoming a regular these days. It has nice bourbon and sherry notes and a little spice on the finish. Very pleasant these days.

Let us know how you like it. It is a good whisky; reminds me of warm buttered pancakes with syrup. I think I prefer Wiser's Legacy, though.

Any of the Alberta Premium 25 or 30 left in Canada? They never made it to the USA.

Took home the Red Breast cask strength and at a good price too, $49.99. Passed on some Wiser's 18 at $37.99 (really  ) but I'll be back soon.

Glenrothes special reserve. Not a fan the dark side juice in general but someone recommended this one for for those that are not huge Scotch fans. Any thoughts on this one?

First time I had it, I found it too mild, almost to the point of being tasteless. Last time I had Glenrothes it was great but it might have been one of the vintage bottlings.

I was tempted to buy a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail yesterday. But at well over $80 I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The store I went to also had the Corryvrecken at a little over $100.
