Great prices on all of them. I didn't know you were into Scotch Max.

I'm starting to do it a bit more. I'm probably around 20 bottles now. I'm not really into the smoke bombs right now. I'm going to try to ease my way into them.

The store is just a mob-like Italian Market on the East side of St. Paul that takes cash only and has awesome prices. This week was the scotch sales. The past few, it's been a lot more bourbon on sale. It's a cool place.

I went ahead and added to my exploration of Glenfarclas with the 17yo. I'm starry-eyed over the 1974 31yo and happy enough with the 10yo, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the 17yo fits into the mix.

My Glenfarclas 12 was wonderful, so I think you'll be in luck with the 17. Let us know what you think!

Made it up to Viti's in Vancouver & picked up a bottle of Nikka Yoichi 10 (can't find that here in the States) - cool little shop BTW.

I didn't purchase it, but my brother who just got back from Ireland got me a Cooley's Distillery gift pack. It includes:

  • Connemara Peated Single Malt Whiskey 40% ABV (The Smokey One)
  • The Tyrconnell Single Malt Whiskey 40% ABV (The Fruity One)
  • Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey 40% ABV (The Sweet One)
  • Greenore 8 year old Single Grain Whiskey 40% ABV (The Smooth One)

I'm looking forward to trying them.

An Alchemist's indy bottling of Mortlach that was aged entirely in ex-bourbon barrels. Real unusual when Mortlach, like Macallan, is best known as a sherried whisky.

I had to replace my bottle of Laphroaig QC. Ended up going home with a Glenmorangie 4 100ml sampler. It came with 100ml bottles of Glenmorangie (original), Lasanta, Nectar D'Or and Quinta Ruban. I had only a bottle of the Astar previously and ended up trying the Nector D'Or recently and was very impressed. Also had an impulse buy and picked up another bottle of JPS 18, I am a week, week Man :-)
