SippinJim
To better define it; how many different unopened bottles do you have? I am now up to 69 with the hopes to top the 70 mark in the next week or two. I know I will catch the wrath of those who believe that a bottle of bourbon should be opened and enjoyed but I just want to see how large I can get my collection without opening any. BTW, I always keep two or three bottles around for occasional imbibing. A.H. NorCalBoozer
I counted about a month ago and had 180 unopened bottles. Most of it is stuff that I bunkered because i liked it at the time. Sure glad I did cause it would've cost me a lot more to buy it today.I think a well stocked bunker is a great idea, especially in these times of rising costs and boubon interest, things arn't going to get cheaper. burghguy
I have 143 unopened and a number of these are duplicates. I have just returned from a visit to Lexington, KY and I am afraid I went a bit overboard as it is impossible to get much of a variety in the PA liquor stores. I am really enjoying the Four Roses small batch and single barrel, and I found some of the BTAC in a small shop in Maryland and could not pass it up. Cheers! PhilsFan
I have 12 bottles total...11 opened...the only one unopened is the ORVW 10/107 I just bought (a duplicate). It's a combination of lack of will power and getting a later start in acquisitions than the rest of you guys...But, I'm working on it.-Joe
JamesW
I have 22 bottles of bourbon unopened and about 12 opened. The 12 is down from a previous high as I have been making an effort to reduce the # of bourbons on the shelf that I don't love. My new focus is to have about 10 of the one's I truly have to have and just bunker them well.

Billie
Hi Sippin Jim, In our collection we have only 9 un-opened bottles of bourbon. Of course all the bottles are signed by the master distiller. Any other bottle entering our home is "open game" especialy the small batches or single barrels! billie

fishnbowljoe
Canadian Whiskey: 2 opened-1 unopenedRye: 1 openedBourbon:28 opened-25 unopenedI'm making a concerted effort to "drain" a few bottles so I can make some room for bunkering. Just sent a bottle of MM to the bin. Only a couple of swallows left, so I combined it with another bottle I forgot I had opened. Except for picking up a new bourbon occasionally, I've pretty much decided to concentrate on bunkering my favorites. Joe

lovejones
I'm a recovering record collector who got caught up with bourbons a few years ago. I only drink bourbon, but not usually at home. I'm building a new house, and can't wait to have all these bourbons for my grand opening. So, for now, I haven't opened my bottles. I want to have a killer collection when I open my bar.BTEC - Twice Barreled (2 bottles)BTEC - ZinfandelBTEC - ChardonnayBTAC- George Stagg (2006, 2007)BTAC - William Larue Weller (2006, 2007)BTAC - Thomas Handy (2006, 2007)BTAC - SAZERAC (2006, 2007)Pappy Van Winkle 15 - Signed by Julien and PrestonPappy Van Winkle 15Four Roses 120th AnniversaryFour Roses 40th Anniversary of RutledgeFour Roses Single Barrel - Bourbon Society BottlingWillett Single Barrel Estate ReserveMakers Mark Rupps RuntsWoodford Reserve Derby Bottle (130, 131)Knob Creek - Signed by Fred Noe
