After reading this thread, I have decided to start selling Bourbon Insurance. All the natural disasters are covered, so is theft and fire. Breakage while intoxicated is covered as long as you are not over a certain limit and my company will issue a home breathalizer machine to be administered shortly after such incidence occurs. Claiming you tripped and fell and the bottle some how opened and said contents of said bottle emptied themselves in your mouth is not covered. Unless during a hurricane, but only in Indiana. All of that will be covered under section 8.23A of the policy manual.

You need to cover "negligent openings" as well...

"Well, I didn't mean to oepn that super expensive collectible bottle" I need you to cover my loss of value.

I can post the entire 800 pg policy manual if you like.

600+ Scotches (95% are single malts)

500+ Bourbons/Ryes

100+ Other (Cognac/Armagnac/Rum/Tequila)

good chance that there is more but stopped counting after 1,200 but this also includes duplicates...

Wow. You have more than the average liquor store.

Are any of you guys out there with the huge stockpiles married? How????????

Married for 22 years and have a huge stockpile. Wife just shakes her head and calls me "bourbon dork". She don't care.

Married 35 years, the bourbon stock not as large as some but larger than most liquor stores around here. Wife has her own hobbies that she spends money on.

Hell, come to think about it, I'm (we) are helping to prop up the economy.

I tried to use this logic on my wife and she didn't buy it. She wanted to know why I didn't help the economy with things she liked to drink.

Currently have 374 unopened including duplicates with 26 open. When I bring home a new bottle, I break the seal on the first one then set it on the shelf. That way I have to try everything I purchase. tim

Dan,

How much of your bunker and bar is "not available in VA". Are you venturing into non-controlled states and purchasing?

Virginia has about 65 labels in its ABC stores I believe and I have had most of them at one time or another I have not picked up a few of the bottom shelf 80 proofs. Not counting extra bottles that I have I have picked up 22 bottles out of state and if you count older dates of EWSB the number goes up to 29. And I have gotten bottles from a total of 6 states and DC.

To answer the thread's title, it is,

CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

Maybe I'm paranoid but there are a lot of "lurkers" and we don't know what kind of info they want and how they would use it.

We do have a lot of "lurkers" it seems that whenever I look to see who is on here the number of unmembers is always a lot higher then members. Why not become a member and join in the fun.

Joining kills the cover that they use for snagging bottles and putting them on eBay.

Only partially kidding

Some of the "guests" are search engines crawling the site. The forums here are pretty heavily indexed by Google, et al.

"Unopened" in my abode just means "haven't gotten around to it yet and/or again". Seriously, why would you own a bourbon you don't want to taste? Or, at least, why would you admit it HERE?!:skep:

Again, seriously, if you have such a bottle, PM me with particulars and a price! Let's get that sucker in circulation!
