In the year 2008 Who has the most aging Whiskeys in one place?

I will be willing to bet that Gary can help me on this one. When I worked at Kinsey 1966 they had the most aging whiskeys at one place At Kinsey 4 Million Barrels, 999,000 per Explosion proof Warehouse and some in the old Wood & Brick ones. I don't know but Heaven hills has allot I would think and maybe its them? Well lets find out.

I might hedge my bet with Beam. I am sure that someone has a copy of the insurance totals, by someone I mean Chuck. So, how 'bout it Chuck? We'll see if he appears from the phone both with his superhero outfit, with the big B on the chest...

The wrinkle in Dave's question might be the "in one place" part, as all of the biggest distillers have multiple warehouse locations.

That said, Beam owns the largest stock of aging bourbon. If you say "American whiskey" then the title shifts to Jack Daniel's, with Beam #2. Again, depending on how you ask the question, Heaven Hill will be #2 or #3. After those three, the numbers fall off quite a bit before you get to #3/#4.

As for the annual compilation of whiskey in storage, that's done for taxes, not insurance, and getting a current copy of it is harder than you might think. My inquiries always seem to evaporate into the ether.

Thank You Chuck, back in that day Continental kept all their aging American Whiskeys at Kinsey they would either truck the barrels or ship them by rail car there! Then late 1960's they brought in the Inver House and other stuff but at the time this was stated it was all American Whiskey aging there. After I started there they were moving alot of it and taking the old racks out so the amounts dropped. I wondered and thanks to your answer I now know!

And, I should note, we're also assuming you mean, "in the United States." I suspect there are some warehouse locations in Scotland that ours would pale beside.
