No, but don't you mean TASTES GREAT! ?

As for me, where to begin?

Memories...sitting in an ice-bound boat, taking swigs of JB to keep warm, watching ducks flying over head at what seemed near-stratospheric altitudes...

Sitting around the campfire...drinking from the bottle...

Cool evenings on the patio...a glass of bourbon in one hand, a fine cigar in the other...

Like it neat...on the rocks...in a mixed drink (but not too sweet)...

A dash in the BBQ sauce...in the baked beans...a bit in my maple syrup on pancakes...my wife's bread-pudding-with-bourbon-glaze at Christmas...

I know what I'll be drinking tonight...

where does one buy "bourbon"?

It does kind of sound weird. Something like what K-MART would serve if they ran a bar.

:D The one thing this site is not short of is some great humor ...

The good bourbons are good, the ones that are not good are not so good...

Well done Jeff... :)

Bourbon? It doesn't taste like my all-time favorite vatting of 100 scotches, 50 Canadian ryes and Beefeater added for elan.

Funny you say that, I've been thinking of adding some of that to part of the batch and bringing it to Gazebo!

Hmmm... In a way the peppery finish of tequila (the one I tried, anyhow) reminds me of Talisker.

There is something about El Tesoro Anejo which makes me think of Laphroaig.

At last count I have, or have tasted, roughly thirty bourbons. Of those thirty, there are only two that I positively wouldn't buy again. That's still a .933 batting average! So, if the bases are loaded, put me in to pinch hit. I'm ready, willing and able. Gonna' aim for the fences. POW! HOLY COW! A HOME RUN! Here's how it would play out.

I'll run the bases at a slow trot, and stop at each one and have a taste of a different bourbon out of a Riedel glass. When I touch home plate, I'll pop open a bottle of something special, pour a nice taste, swig it down and wipe my mouth on the sleeve of my jersey. Then I'll face in the direction of Kentucky, look to the heavens and bow with great reverence to the Gods of bourbon. I'll walk slowly back to the dugout, basking in all my splendiferous glory. Just before reaching the dugout steps, I'll tip my hat to the crowd. Upon entering the dugout, I'll revel in the adulation and congratulations of my great bourbon teammates. I'll leisurely take my seat on the bench........., and promptly proceed to get drunker than hell, the start of a three day bender. CHEERS! :slappin: Joe
