barturtle
Whats the difference between these two?The American Honey is a relaunched and repackaged version of the Liqueur. I believe they also changed the proof, but I'm not sure, I don't drink it.
HighTower
Liqueur is 60 proof, American Honey is 71 proof. Also a new recipe.I am not a fan. The Liqueur is awesome!Scott

Gumbootboy
That is an extremely impressive collection. That I can only dream of.Yeah, we only have 86.8 proof, 8yo 101 and Rare Breed available here!Oh and American Spirit which is almost gone.Plus American Honey. I've also 'seen' Russel's Reserve in Sydney. And when I say 'seen' I mean I saw the empty selves where the bottles once were, didn't get a chance to pick any up.I look forward to opening my first bottle of WTAS this Saturday!Me too. Can't bring myself to spend the $125-$150 I can find it for.By the way HighTower,The Russel's was in a Parramatta independent chain called Mr. Liquor, although there are 13 of them around Sydney, the other one I went to didn't have a clue what Russel's was. Oh, and the I.W. Harper I saw for $80 was at a small store (which also had a nice selection of $25 dollar bourbons I'd never seen before.) that was just up from another liquor store called the 'Lick Her Shop/Store' in Kings Cross. Can't remember it's actual name though.

That is one helluva WT collection, it's alladin's cave - in the shape of bourbon! Most impressive.
MJL
If I can surmise what I see written here, and please correct me if I am wrong, most people think this is a superb bourbon but not worth the $100 asking price. Some think it is worthy of the money and some think it is not. So, my question is this. What would you pay for this? I saw a bottle for $79. I also saw a bottle for $90. Should I be picking these up lest I never see quality like this again for double the price? Just curious for some guidance from those who have actually tried this bourbon. craigthom
The question you should ask yourself is not how much I would pay for it but how much you would. We all place different values on different things.I doubt I would, but my bourbon budget is limited, and the 2008 BTAC release is coming up. I estimate that those will be close to $70 a piece, and there are five of them.
MJL
So, Craig, if I am reading you right you do not feel $79 is low enough price for what you get in American Spirit. Am I correct in saying this? By the way what is BATC? All the acronyms here have me scratching my head.

MJL
Interesting. I wonder when Buffalo Trace will make it down here. I have found Eagle Rare all over but no other Buffalo Trace product that I can see. I reckon there is always the internet! Thanks for the education.
