tsh3406
I observe a moment of silence as I mourn both for your loss, and for mine, who's time will come. What's worse though, having an empty bottle, or never having had that bottle to begin with?T
hjminard
What's worse though, having an empty bottle, or never having had that bottle to begin with?Take it from a newbie who may never have a taste ... the latter is definitely worse.
OscarV
Joel, that is a tragically sad picture you posted.I have only had one bottle of WTRR101, but I do have two bunkered away.
chilidawg7
i have not had this bourbon, but every now and then one pops up on eBay for a decent price and i am tempted...
craigthom
I found one in December, peeking up from behind the new version on a shelf. Since then I've looked behind dozens of rows of the lower proof one but found nothing.
TroyM
I still dont know why so much of it got sent here to Australia.
SBOmarc
I had one bottle. I drank all of it. I even found it for some time at a local watering hole. That time is gone. I mourn indeed.
HighTower
I still dont know why so much of it got sent here to Australia. They sent all stock the distillery had left over here when it was discontinued so they could launch the 90 proof. Pernod-Ricard execs decided it would all sell in 12 months :skep:3 years later......who wants a case?We will not be getting the 90 proof version here at all, because Australians have NFI who Jimmy Russell is.We should see WT Rye back on the shelves in about 2 months though, which is a really good thing.Scott
TroyM
The stocks in Vic are rapidly disappearing. I have a fair few stashed away and im working on accumulating WTAS now which also seems to be getting scarse.
mythrenegade
Well, I bought another bottle today, so I have two unopened. There was one more, but I didn't have enough cash for the last one...No I won't tell you where it is :-)So as much as I lament the end of my RR101, at least i have two more to enjoy before it is nothing but a distant memory...Joel
TBoner
Joel, you have inspired me. I will open a bottle from my RR101 stash as soon as my WT101 is empty. It will be a sad day indeed when my last bottle runs dry.Regards,
tango-papa
Just an FYI for you fellas...There's plenty, and I mean lots, of RR101 in Texas.~tp
Special Reserve
I haven't seen any in MI for some time now, yet it's relatively easy to find older (94-99) WTRB.Will
jeff
What makes me sad is that when this stuff was readily available I never thought much of it. I would much rather chuck over the extra change for KY Spirit. I'm not sure if it was the power of suggestion, or simply my changing tastes, but as soon as it became hard to find I fell in love with it. I now have only 1 unopened bottle left for a special occasion. Placing a bottle of this on the gazebo table would be a good way to make friends
TBoner
Gus, there might be lots in Texas, but it's all in Houston and the surrounding area. I've searched Dallas, Ft. Worth, and San Antonio high and low, and I came away with 16 bottles, but haven't seen one in 10 or 11 months. Sounds like a road trip to Houston is in order.Regards,

Anyway, while there has been a good bit of the WTRR101 here in Houston, from what I can tell it's really been drying up. I get to check a fair portion of the Houston area while traveling around town in my job, and I just don't see it that much anymore.

I saw Houston and jumped to conclusions. Thanks for the update on the status of RR 101. I feel better somehow knowing that there wasn't good whiskey out there that I wasn't buying. I may have a problem. Again, apologies for the mistaken identity. Regards,

Again, apologies for the mistaken identity. Regards, Tim, I'm tango-papa and I approved this message... If/when next time you head down yonder Houston way, let me know in advance and I'll make sure you have the directions/addresses to not more than 3 spirit shops with my personal guarantee you'll find not less than 15+ bottles. Again, there is plenty of the RR101 in Texas - specifically, and I suppose I should have been more specific... in the Houston metro area. I've seen it outside Houston as well on my travels through our great Republic. Remember, this here is Texas... you can drive all day and still be here! ~tp
TBoner
Indeed, t-p, and I have: I've gotten out into some of the rural areas surrounding the DFW metroplex, and I did make some fortuitous finds: Wathens '98, WT 12 Splits, RR101, ER101, L'ville Weller 107, and the granddaddy find: Weller 19 from 2000. It took some all-day driving, but that was before gas even hit $3/gal. And I know there's a lot of undiscovered terrain, especially as one gets away from the cities into the eastern woods or western high plains. But I digress: next time I head down your way (a few months from now, I'm guessing, I'll PM for information on the hidden stashes. Many thanks.Regards,
