tsh3406
Memphis or Jonesboro, AR? Going to a family reunion this weekend and am trying to find a few nice distractions on the way. Thanks,Tim
chilidawg7
Not sure about the bourbon, but while in Memphis, make sure to hit up Rendezvous. And Pat O'Brien's has a dueling piano bar that is pretty cool.
cowdery
Beale Street is where you want to be, not necessarily for bourbon, but it's where you want to be. Yeah, it's touristy, but it's touristy with good booze and good blues. The thing is, Memphis is in the Bourbon Belt, so any bar there (or in Jonesboro, for that matter) is going to have a better bourbon selection than most bars outside the Bourbon Belt. I've never been dissatisfied with the bourbon selection in Memphis. Oh yeah, eat some BBQ. When in Memphis you must drink some bourbon, hear some blues, and eat you some BBQ. Happily, Memphis is full of places where you can do all three, including a bunch of them on Beale Street.

Special Reserve
Chuck said it best. Beale Street, BBQ, Bourbon, and Blues. Also you don't have to be an Elvis fan to tour Graceland. Great Americana.
tsh3406
Thanks everyone for the travel advice. We hit Beale Street Friday night, best time ever. Some of the best music and bbq anywhere. We are already planning another trip down there with a bigger crowd....Oh, and Jonesboro's in a dry county. Go figure....Tim
