I saw a few bottles recently at my neighborhood BevMo... haven't seen it anywhere else though.

Is this stuff available at all anymore? I can't find it anywhere on-line or on shelf.

I have found it very effective to go to BevMo's website and use the notify by email function when the OFBB is available. I was able to get the Four Roses SB that way.

Try Mission Liquors in Pasedena, they won't ship outside of California anymore and their website is under maintenance right now, but they still might have it. Binnys currently lists 2 different 1993's as well as a 94 and a 95 release. Hi times wine in California may also have some!

HiTime has it for sure as of last weekend. I wasn't sure he wanted to drive to Costa Mesa. Also try Liquorama in Upland Ca.

You know, I tried Mission, Hi-Time, Wine and Liquor Depot, BevMo, K&L, all the usual suspects with no luck. Everyone's sold out.

the 2007 edition is still on the shelves of one of my local stops. also saw a 2005 edition recently.

haven't seen it online anywhere, to be honest.

PM me if you want some bad enough and I can try to send one your way.

What years are you looking for? I see some here in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin stores from time to time. I also believe either Binny's or Sam's in Chicago might have some too. Joe

The 2008 edition will be released very soon - September 2. (Although it usually takes a month or more to make it to retailers outside of KY.) Haven't heard any details about this year's edition yet, but I expect an email will arrive soon.

I picked up a 2006 and 2007 just today. I am curious about what the local prices you are paying on these as I am concerned I am over paying for things.

One place here (northern Illinois) has the 2006 still for $55. I got mine for around $45 a year or so ago. Another store I go to had the 2007 for right around $40 IIRC. Joe

Most that I see are $35-40$. But, I don't see them often. Bought an 05 a couple of weeks ago at $39.

Ok, thanks for those anwers. I paid $37 each for my two bottles. There is still a last 2007 on the shelf back at the store and I am thinking I ought to get back there to claim it. From what I have read here and on other sites the 2006 and 2007 seem to be producing wonderful reviews. Is this something I ought to pounce on or will more emerge to replace the bottles I snagged? I asked the seller to get more but he was not sure if he could.

The only one I've ever had is the '07, but I love the stuff. It's on my Top Ten overall, and my Top Five corn/rye. As for under $40, the only other corn/rye bourbon I like as much is WT RB.

Although my current bottle is still 2/3 full, I expect I'll buy another the next time I'm in Eugene.

I would hold off on the 2007 until you've tried it. The nose is great, but it's fairly astringent on the palate. Certainly not my favorite of the various vintages...

Astringent?!! Huh!

Who ya gonna believe? A guy with a motorcycle or a guy with a bow tie?

Seriously, Dan's right: given that you already have a bottle of the '07, open it and try it. Make up your own mind.

Hmm, that is a hard one. Whom to trust? Hmm? Actually, my thinking is that this area is all about Rum. The chance of me seeing another bottle of this in South Florida is slim. I can find 500 Rums but the Bourbon choices are often Beam or , um, BEAM. That is why I am currently jumping on a bunch of bottles, without prior tasting, as I am unsure of my future chances of seeing these around here again. Just some thoughts about my motivation.

Most of the time if I see a Birthday Bourbon, it's in the $39-$45 range.

However, about a month ago, I stopped at a small shop up in Gainesville and he was selling the 07 Edition for $24.99.

I picked up a bottle and left a few for other fortunate souls.

Gainesville, huh? I run through there two or three times a year. I am trying to think what store that might be?
