pepcycle
It appears that Junior Johnson of NASCAR fame has gone back to his roots. He's now part of a Piedmont Distillers project to produce "Moonshine" legally in NC. Check out the website. http://www.piedmontdistillers.com/index02.phpAnyone tasted this yet??My new avatar is the still. It stands about 7 feet tall. I wonder if he'll wholesale me 50 gallons for barreling. :skep:
Rughi
Uh-oh... They're not using the approved type of still. There's some finger pointing a'coming. I haven't tried it, but I'd be interested to hear how it compares to Virginia Lightning, another small volume distillation. There certainly is a lot of gear you can purchase on their webstore. ILLfarmboy
I've actually seen the Catdady Carolina Moonshine at a local watering hole. I didn't taste it because I think it's flavored GNS. I saw the Midnight Moon stuff down in Peoria at a large liquor store. I reckon its about the same; mostly GNS.
pepcycle
How much would you pay for a Junior Johnson SIGNED bottle?
cowdery
I've had both the Midnight Moon and the Catdaddy. The Midnight Moon isn't even corn whiskey, it's vodka, and I think the still is a prop. The Catdaddy is a liqueur and has a pretty interesting flavor, although what either has to do with moonshine, beyond hype, is beyond me.
