Dangit, this is becoming a favorite nightcap...an EWSB Manhattan. This bottle of EWSB is growing on me...I find myself reaching for it when I want a little shot. I'm going to have to get another bottle of it while they still have some of this barrel selection left.

I did a little vatting myself.

50/50 '89 JW Dant BIB and AAA 10 year. The Dant is most likely an AA mashbill and I get similarities between that and the AAA 10 year. So adding the BIB increases the proof over the AAA, and adding the AAA gives some age to the vatting. Overall, a nice little mix.

A 90's WL Weller SR vs. a 2008 WL Weller SR. Keep going back and forth between the two and I can't pick a winner yet.

Never tried vatting before, but I had a small amount of FR1B and about a shot of Baby Saz left, so I figured, what the hell.

This particular FR is a bit too floral for my liking, but the Baby Saz brought it back to earth in a nice way. The extra proof from the FR was a nice touch, too.

Rich yet a little sharp, big spice on the finish. Very interesting!

Pulled the 4 Roses Yellow label for a change of pace....it has been awhile

....it is a nice sweetish pour.

I tried making a Sazerac Old Fashioned with a slice of tangelo instead of an orange. I found it lacking. I took the fruit out and added a few drops of Fee brothers orange bitters and a pinch more sugar. It was better but then I added more whiskey to re-balance the drink.

Some nights just go like that.............

My wife and I went over to a friends house for dinner tonight. There were four couples there altogether. We had a great time! Wonderful food and good company. I took some Everett's Weller SR with me. We had such a good time, when we got home, I had a small pour of Pappy 20 as a nightcap. Best time I've had in a while. Joe

After a busy day spend re-aranging furniture, I sat down last night after dinner to a pour of Noahs Mill, followed by a Dickel Barrel Select, and finished with some Four Roses Yellow Label.

Going to have my first taste of VW Lot B tonight...I picked up a couple bottles today!

I just had my first serving of VW Lot B and this is the best bourbon that I have had to date. I'm a relatively new bourbon drinker but I have had a good number of them over the last 6-8 months. This is buttery smooth...so good! I'm glad that I picked up a couple bottle as this is a keeper!

Sipping a Knob Creek Manhattan right now, going to try some of that Everett's single-barrel-bottling of Weller SR I picked up this afternoon later, maybe taste it against the standard bottling while I still have some of it left.

Last night started out with Eagle Rare 17 year, then progressed onto Pappy Van Winkle 15 year old. Tonight? Noah's Mill. I'll probably stick with it and have a couple more with a cigar later..
