hectic1
How does the Eagle Rare 17 year compare to the Pappy 15? I have been thinking about picking up an Eagle Rare 17 but would like to know a little more about it first.
hectic1
I have moved over to ORWW 10/90 from the Lot B...they're similar in VW style but the Lot B is much more buttery/toffee and quite a bit smoother then the ORVW...not complaining though. The ORVW could be a good everyday pour!
JamesW
Weller SR, Pappy 20, ORVW 10/107, and now some WLW 2008.

fishnbowljoe
I'm kicking myself. I'm attending my sisters graduation from med school and I didn't even bring my flask. So I was stuck with JB and coke at the graduation dinner..... JB and Coke huh? Sounds like the bar at my bowling alley. :slappin: Joe Had a great day. Took a short road trip and went to see B3NUT's band. Tonight my wife and I went to a bar at a bowling alley to see another band. It was one of the bowling alley's I bowl at. Had a few JB and Cokes. :slappin: Guess what goes around comes around. This one's for you Greg. By the way, Todd's (B3Nut) band is fantastic! I will be up to see them again. For anyone in the Chicago, northern Illinois/Wisconsin stateline area, it's well worth taking a trip to see them. Great music. Joe

B3Nut
:toast: Had a pour of that Weller SR from Everett's last night before heading to bed...lots of spicy apples going on in this bottle. I posted an attempt at tasting notes in the tasting forum...I'm really impressed with this bottling. Not too heavy, but full of flavor and joie de vivre...aqua vitae, indeed! Thanks for the kind comments about the band Joe, it was nice to meet you and your family. :toast:
ACDetroit
Last night was spent at OscarV's house, thanks again for the hospitality there's never a lack of great whiskey at his place.Started the night with some Dist. 1970 - Bottled 1978 OT bib, PVW 23 yr old, WLW Centennial, FR 120th and I may be missing a couple.Dinner was Oscar's world famous grilled chicken (on the Webber) man that boy knows how to cook on that grill, the meal was accompanied by a great sweet potato and salad. Thanks again for the great evening and company...as alway truly enjoyable!Tony

Hondo
I opened my new Lot B today. This was my first taste and I was a bit worried that I had set my expectations too high... until I tasted it. Now my only problem is that I will want to have one of these on hand at all times.

Josh
Had a bit of 1792 last night to celebrate the sucessful singing of Brahms' German Requiem (in English) with my church choir, although 1792 might have been more appropriate for Mozart.

B3Nut
Lot B is high up on my "want a bottle of that" list! Decided I'd better start using up the last of my regular bottle of Weller SR...just made myself a nice Old Fashioned.
MissingKY
Having a pour of OFBB 2006 tonight. I think what I like so much about this is its balance. It's got a lot of nice flavors, but nothing too dominant. There's obvious wood, but it's not woody. I'm a fan.
Pieface
Last night I poured some Bakers. I'm just about 3/4 through this bottle and something odd is going on. The intensity of flavour just seems to have dropped away sharply. As best I can tell they are all there but it is very muted. Woke up the tastebuds with some WT8 before retiring for the evening. Stones
I cracked a Frankfort Centennial and one of the newer VSOF last weekend, the Weller had quite a strong aniseed nose and was toothsome but didn't score in my top 10 by any means. I guess the Louisville must be a fair bit better as i was a little under whelmed - maybe i put too much expectation on it. I wasn't expecting too much from the VSOF and it was quite palatable, nothing too incredible about it but it was nice to experience them anyway as we don't get much of these types down this way.
