DowntownD
Booker's is a favorite of mine, and I've read/heard that some of the earlier years are better (or at least particularly interesting) so I'd like to try out an old(er) bottle for myself (to drink, not collect or re-sell). Anyone here bunkering some older bottles and have one (or two) they'd let go of for a trade or the like, or maybe know of some store with an old dusty or two that takes online/phone orders? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.-D
barturtle
I'm not sure how to interpret the info on the Booker's bottle. I can't recall anyone ever putting forth a definitive guide to deciphering the codes on the bottle. In which case, does anyone want to start pulling out your older Booker's and start compiling the info off of them to try to figure it out?I'll start:Batch No...Age.....Proof......Bottle Date...Date codingB93-L-16...7y1m...63.15%...00..............1142 288 00 17:
Virus_Of_Life
Timothy, I am pretty sure it was clearly understood, I know I read a thread about it. The B/C I think was the distillery, the two digit following was the year, the letter is the month and the last two digit is the day. I am pretty sure the barrel heads are numbered in the same manner... I know I picked some of that up from the tour at Beam I did last year, but do recall reading a thread about the Bookers info specifically.
Virus_Of_Life
... I forgot to mention, that signature really drives me nuts! I'm going to start referring to you as GIMP, and I'll be glad when next football season rolls around!
barturtle
You're right, I found it...B93-L-16...7y1m...63.15%...00..............1142 288 00 17:16L is the month (December) so December 16 1993...seems to be the distilling date....though there was some clarification still needed

Virus_Of_Life
There's an even older thread I was thinking of, but that one does a good job.I was thinking it was Fill Date not distilled date, but I guess those could be the same?... Nice, I like the modesty! :skep: :slappin:

I have seen several in Houston and one closer to Dallas where I live. Around $40-$45. I doubt the stores ship as I am not sure of the legality of shipping from Texas. I ship often, but I have nothing to loose.

gothbat
Here's another for the list:"6 Years 5 Months 126.6 Proof, Batch No C89-L-13 020619" This one came in an all wooden box (wooden face instead of plastic) that says "Bookers True Barrel Bourbon" but the bottle, which comes wrapped in paper, doesn't say this anywhere on it (maybe the retailer re-used the box?).
