p_elliott
I drank a bottle of Old Charter Ducks Unlimited and George Dickel Ducks Unlimited circa 1996. I later saw a full bottle of the George Dickel sell on E-bay for over $150. Considering it was an off bottle of Dickel and had some bad flavors, I started kicking myself for drinking it. But it looks nice in the shop with the rest of the bone yard of bottles.:grin:I have a ducks unlimited Franchi shot gun but you can't drink it. tommyboy38
As soon as I get off work, I'm going to grab a few dusty bottles of Old Fitz and Old Forester and whatever else looks good. The State of Illinois won't be getting any more liquor tax money out of me after September 1st.

boss302
Ate lunch at Memphis Blues (Palmyra, PA) today with a good bourbon-drinking buddy of mine. A Wine & Spirits store was just a few spaces down, so we stopped in.And what goes great after BBQ? A spicy, rye-heavy Bourbon, of course! So, I plunked down a couple bucks for a bottle of Bulleit. I know it gets panned here a lot, but, truthfully, I thoroughly enjoy it!
theDon
Found possibly the last WTRR 101 left in Dallas at Empire Central liquors off Harry Hines. I paid $29.99 for it. Not a bad price in my opinion for what you get.I left a Pewter top WTKS on the shelf, but they wanted $69.99 for it. No thanks!

I had some disappointing news the other day....Binny's doesn't ship to VA anymore. Our illustrious legislatures apparently didn't like the competition and shut that door. So, in order show to them how resourceful I am, I'm waiting to hear back from a MD liquor store who said they may be able to get me VOB BIB for about $9 a 750.......VA said IF they could get it, they would charge around $20. fishnbowljoe
I picked up a few yesterday. Went to Everett's and got two of their single barrel bottles of BT from last year, and one bottle of their Weller SR from this year. There's only nine days left until the tax on alcohol goes up. It's not like I needed an excuse or anything. Joe
MarkEdwards
Had the day off today. What to do... what to do? I know - shop for bourbon!I drove around the north and west side of Dallas today, and the north and east end of FortWorth, looking at the selections of the various liquor stores I had never been to, as well as a couple I usually visit to see if they had anything new.Found a bottle of Jefferson Reserve, and a bottle of George T. Stagg.Cashier did a low whistle at the GTS, saying, "192 proof! That's a lot!" Huh?, that'd be Everclear. I looked at the label, and the "142" did look a bit like "192"... IronHead
Picked up my first bottle of Weller 12 and another Jefferson Reserve Presidential Select.Talk about frustration, I have been wanting to try the 12 year Weller forever now. I finally found a bottle and I have a sinus infection and can't smell or taste a thing!

hectic1
I've been getting into a bad habit...I travel every week for work so I have all of my nights free to "hunt". Last week in Orlando I found a Rockwood Reserve while hunting...this week while in Houston I found a bottle of BTAC ER17 Summer 2000 for $45.00...this was too good of a find to pass up. I also found a couple bottles of WTRB from 93 and 97. I didn't have room in my bag for those so I'll get one on my next time through...I guess I either need to stop hunting or get used to checking my bags! gblick
I'm in Corpus Christi for 2 days on business, and found a nice store that has most of the Van Winkles and every one of the BTAC (first time I've ever seen a full collection of the BTAC on a shelf). I picked up an '08GTS and a Handy. I have one of the '07GTS open at home, but I've never tasted the '08, and I've never ever tasted ANY of the Handy at all.
