ErichPryde
In the last couple of days visiting Tucson, I picked up a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15 year and a single barrel Jack Daniel's at BevMo. I'm really excited about the PVW15, which I have a hazy, amazing memory of. I almost wish I had picked up another bottle of PVW15 instead of the Jack Single Barrel, but I wanted to mix it up and it was on sale....

B3Nut
Nothin' fancy...but I was out of WT101, so I got a fresh bottle. If I could only have one bourbon, I'd be happy with this one.
BBQ+Bourbon
Today I was in a small town and drove by a large liquor store that I'd never visited. I almost went past it, but at the last minute pulled in. It was a good thing I did! Picked up 3 bottles of Wellers 107, one of which has the metallic stripes Louisville, and is labeled 95 on the bottom and the other two are labeled 06. Is this 95 likely to be SW whiskey? I also picked up a 10 year Charter marked 4/26/1992 just for kicks. It was $3.xx so couldn't go wrong. They had several 1996 Charter 10 years but I didn't grab any. Now, here's the real mystery. There is also a bottle of Old Calhoun Reserve distilled in Bardstown and marked 88 on the bottom with a faux tax strip. I've bought too many marginal bottles without doing research so I decided to hold off and see if I can find any info on here. Forgot to say, this Old Calhoun was marketed by Safeway stores in California if I recall correctly. It was 80 proof and was tempting but without knowing what's in the bottle it's hard to lay down the money. I also forgot to say that while 06 OWA may not be hard to find, it's my favorite drink and the price was $16.99!
onmytrack
Haven't bought any new bourbon in a while so I thought I'd splurge on a bottle of Parker's Heritage 27 year. That ought to carry me over until the Jefferson's Presidential makes it way to CA.Jim

unclebunk
Can't get enough of the Old Weller Antique, myself. I love the stuff and can still find plenty of it around in the $17-$19 range, so I usually pay the few extra bucks to get it instead of the Weller Special Reserve. BBQ+Bourbon
I'm with you Uncle Buck! The store where I found the 95 OWA yesterday may well have more in the back room. I'll check again next week and see anything shows up. They very likely have some WSR of the same era and I'll grab a couple of those if so. Today I got off work early and decided to do a little hunting. Found a shop with 1 bottle of Lot B Julia(n) and picked it up. The lady said she had a case last Thursday with six spoken for and 7 days later they are gone! I'm looking for a cheaper everyday pour and have to say, this is pretty good stuff if the price would stay steady at $

ErichPryde
Glad to hear it! They had it listed at $50 which I just couldn't do. Talked him to $41 which was still high, but what the hell! It's tough to find anything out of the ordinary around here.Believe it or not, it is 100% easier to get Birthday bourbon here than signature. I have to drive to OK for OF signature, but almost every place around here has bottles of birthday bourbon sitting around.
nor02lei
A friend bought Twisted Spoke for me in Germany. He did also bay a bottle of ORVWOTR for the behalf of our bourbon club BBB. It was the first ever van Winkle rye with the gold neck and no figures or letters.Leif
hectic1
Popped into a random liquor store today and they had bottles of RR 10/90 for $22.99...too good of a price for me to say no so I picked up a bottle. I also picked up 3 mini's of JB Black for the plane ride to Vegas next week.

I'm in KC and have a bourbon buddy in Wichita who would pick it up for me. Have you scoured the shelves of the outlying suburbs? I was thinking of trying the Andover, El Dorado, Valley Center, Goddard areas some day when I'm in Wichita.

It's unlikely (but possible) that I know them- I am a First Assistant at a QT here in town, and meet a lot of people. as for what years I have seen- I picked up a 2007 at a little liquor store at the corner of 13th and Ridge. it was their last bottle. both the East Jacob's Liquor and the ABC at 21st and Tyler have a large quantity of the 2008 bottling (green confetti?) I think I remember seeing a bottle with the purple "confetti" somewhere on or near Maple, I will have to check the area again. I don't know what year was purple.Basically, there is a lot of birthday bourbon here, but most of it is 2008 or newer. If I find something older somewhere, I will let you know. Josh
It's like 2007 all over again for me today. Picked up a 2007 Wm. Larue Weller & a 2007 OFBB today. Looking forward to cracking open both!

unclebunk
It appears that great minds think alike...picked up a 2007 BTAC WLW too! Gotta love when Binny's pulls out a couple bottles from the store room! And I got my 2007 WLW this week too, along with a bottle of Sazerac 18. Beat the hell out of my bourbon budget for the month but should provide endless hours of enjoyment down the line, so it's worth it in my book. I'm looking for 2002 and 2006 based on the stellar experience with the 2005. My buddy isn't on the bourbon forums and I'm not comfortable putting his name out there. He isn't the fanatic that most here are, but he's a Wellers 107 fan due to my influence. If you work at QT, odds are you've met him- he lives east of town near Andover just off Kellogg.Next time I'm in Wichita we'll have to get together.
