Well it's time to turn the page from Summer to Fall...the colors on the trees are starting to change, the smell of nightly fires is in the air...

I started fall by picking up some ER 10/90 for the bunker...this is my go to bourbon right now...I could drink this stuff every day and be a happy guy.

I'm down in Austin TX on business and found a bottle of Kentucky Spirit from Halloween of 2002. Darn tastey... Far better then th current stuff. Too bad I can't take a half empty bottle on the plane home.... I suppose the office here will drink well this week!

I just saw this today in the 1st Quarter 2009 issue of Malt Advocate, apparently it's one of their top ten whiskeys of 2008, also the only one under $100. Going to keep my eyes out for it.

Just to feed the fury.... I picked up an OWA bottle date 2006. I gotta say, its pretty tasty. I will be disappointed if BT decides to eliminate this one as well.

I better go pick up a few more before the Bourbon Hounds of Indy scoop 'em all up !!!!!:skep:

I'm sorry EP. You must not have received your SB.Com bourbon lingo decoder ring, yet. Send 3 corks (not screw caps) in a self addressed stamped envelope to Santa Rosa, CA, and your ring should arrive in 4-6 weeks.

I was fortunate to find an (O)ld ©harter (P)roprieter's ®eserve 13 yr old. A personal fav of mine BTW, and one of the 9 bourbons in my top 5. The OCPR had been released in 2 bottle types. The original from the BHC, was in a flattish bottle, where the shoulders of the bottle "sloped" downward, rather than at more of a 90 degree angle. (Sheeze, this is hard to write out. I'm sure that explanation made little sense. A technical writer, I'm not ). The later bottle of the OCPR was in a squat bottle like the Elmer T. Lee. Maybe, someone with more tech savvy than me, can post pictures, as that is well beyond my capabilities, and my tech person (my 10 yr old daughter) is asleep.

I don't know why I'm getting it so cheap. I went to a new store and the owner said he didn't carry it, but could order it. He said he would do it at cost plus tax. I guess he is trying to gain a loyal customer. Nice guy.

Well it seems my spot with all the Weller Centennial was discovered by someone, but I did manage to grab one more bottle, seem to be all gone now.

They are trying to order me a certain beer this week, so when I stop in again I'll check and see if they've filled the void in their bourbon isle with anything.

Out of curiosity, is the old Baker's Bourbon any different than the new bottlings? I saw a bottle has appeared on the shelf in the store next to me.

It seems like the 06 bottles are slightly more tasty than the 07/08 bottles but that's probably purely psychological, based on the fact that they are more difficult to find. Still, I agree that the 06 seem to have a slightly more enjoyable profile.

I picked up an 06 today which allows me to finish the 06 in the cabinet.

There is no age statement on the new bottle. I didn't pick up a new one for comparison, but I expect I will at some point.

This is not good! Is it ok if I panic right now?!! Perhaps it's time to pick up case lots.

In the last few days I've picked up the Four Roses 2009 barrel strength, a bunch of OWA 7/107 (great price), a couple of 8 year old Willett (Liquor World) and some Jeffersons Pres Select 17 for another list member.

It's great to be in Kentucky.
