WLW08 and my weird creepy old OWA with a bizarre rye and nut taste in it. It's great, but I'm sad the mystery bottle is almost gone

We had a board meeting in our club Borlänge bourbon boys yesterday. Afterwards we did drink up the 5-6 cl that was left in the bottles from our last tasting event witch was antic collection 2008 plus a 9 and a 15 years uncut HH bottling from Cadenheads. The Cadenhead bottles is a bit woodier than most distillery bottles from HH but still good. The wood notes come out kind of spicy and not at all tired like in the ER 2008 for example. We all agreed that the Jim Murray score for Sazerac 18 was ridicules.

The Michter's was the winner last night and paid the price by going empty.

The ER Angel share was good second. It will die tonight...

The later botteling of Vintage 17 is very earthy with lots of Black and Green tea in it. Nothing like the first Vintage 17 that was full of chocolate and cream.... this one my be to robust and tea like for this group... I am sure it will die by weeks end, but if it does not, it will not make it back home with me...

Might have to add another bottle in the mix at the near by BevMo... stay tuned...

Finished off an OWA and starting to make a real dent in the Lot B. If the Angels don't rally, there may not be any Lot B left by the end off the night.

Finished off a Weller Centennial so the closest thing from opening another Centennial is a 2009 BTAC WLW. :drinking:

Weller Centennial, neat.

I just got a delivery from an agent of the US Government.

1 50ml Centennial Louisville and 1 50ml Old Charter Proprietors Reserve Louisville.

Got 'em off eBay for $13.00 plus shipping.

I think it was a steal, if you could get a pour of either of these in a bar it'd cost more than that and you have to tip.

I'll get to the OCPR a little later I'm taking my time with the WLW Cen.

I love eBay because if it wasn't for eBay I would have never found these little gems.

I think we should have an eBay thread to alert members of some of the opportunities for bourbon purchases.

Also what's good about eBay is that they take cash, none of this getting your hopes up for a trade only to be let down because you don't have the exact bottle to trade.

I'm very much enjoying 18yo Glenmorangie. Yea, not bourbon, but still whiskey.

Great whisky, you mean!

Fighting Cock 103 for me!

There is something really enjoyable about that bottle. It's quality bourbon, without the training wheels. Next time it's on sale I will pick up a few.

WTRR 101 and a 9 years uncut HH from Cadenheads. The Turkey tasted awesome and I have to agree with everybody that have sad it is a pity that this outstanding bourbon is out of production. The 9-year tasted very good as well.

Well as read elsewhere on the board, I will be employed Monday morning, ending my 7 month Michigan early retirement (I have to say... Uncle Sam, it was fun while it lasted! :hot: ).

Though suffering from a sinus infection... contracted from those meddling kids! Oh wait those are my kids! Well anyway, I had no plans of a pour this evening due to my palate being a wreck, but the human resource guy said I owed it to myself as a new employee! so 2006 Stagg it is!! Even with a wrecked palate I can still taste this fine juice!

Peace!

Tony
