Just opened a AA BIB & tried that for the first time. I liked it ok neat (pretty rough around the edges, but still very nice), but on a couple of cubes it watered down to skunk . . . I think a full cup of ice if any at all . . . interesting though . . . I'm interested to spend some time with this one.

Andy - I have the same bottle and while it young and spirited, there's not much going on. I've used it in some vatting experiments with good success. For the price, proof and age, not a bad addition.

Pappy 15 seems like the right way to start this weekend for me.

Sittin' on a barstool having a little Evan Williams Black, neat, waiting for the band to show up. Thought I'd get down here early and have some dinner. :) Probably have a little MM or perhaps some Glenlivet later in the evening...

JPS batch 2 with a few rocks. I need to have a sample with the Van Winkle lineage (DNA testing of the family tree). Time to have some friends over. tim

Finished my first week of work today and got paid(very nice). So I think I may have to have some 2006 Stagg for a weekend starter. Would have started sooner but had to carve pumpkins with the girls.

Cheers!

Tony

Tried to have a couple pours last night and nothing tasted good...not the EC12 or the WL Weller 12...I know something is wrong when the latter doesn't do it! :(

You must not be feeling very good if the Weller didn't do it for you! Have you got the swine flu? I'm enjoying some WLW12 right now (Binny's bottling) and it certainly is doing the trick for me.

Yes...something was definitely off last night as the Binny's Weller 12 has ALWAYS tasted fantastic...I'll give it another go tonight and we'll see how it does! :D

VWFRR for the neighbor and I while we tended to the trick or treaters.

It was definitely a rye night out there. Brrr.

I have been Beaming with excitement tonight... 1970 80 proof, 100 month and a 100 month 86 proofer from 1972.

Good way to spend tie handing out candy :D

Ritt BIB, Handy 2008, now VWFRR. Life is good.

If only I could find a bottle of Van Winkle Rye...

My favorite old standby. ERSB. Joe

Other than your love of sarcasm and causing trouble, I knew there was a reason I liked you!

I tried a bottle of Four Roses single barrel tonight. I can't easily get FR in Wichita, so I picked one up while down here. It's pretty god stuff! Being the somewhat disagreeable type that I am, I have to go against the grain here, and say that I think I like the 2008 Mariage somewhat better, although there's nothing wrong with the FRSB, it's got a great nose and is so... gentle.

Not drinking I am just tasting.

Finally got around to the 4R 2009 Mariage.

To sum it up quickly it tastes like fruity high rye and like living in tall cotton.

I had a friend who is a crown/beer fan over while the kids went trick or treating . Started with Charter PR followed by CR cask 16, charbay #1, and ended with Lot B. He preferred the PR over the CR cask 16, appreciated the uniquness of the hopps in charbay but was overpowered with the 129 proof, and enjoyed the Lot B while entertaining a good buzz. I highly reccomend the smoothness of the PR for anyone that is a CR fan. tim

After a nice day of treating the tricksters I started with a little 80 proof SW Old Fitz to go easy on the taste buds for the annual Halloween Feast with the neighbors. This was followed with some modest pours of PVW 15, Vintage 17 and Wathens-2008. I'm surprised by how much I'm digging the Wathens.
