nor02lei
Finishing up the weekend with a solid pour of 2004 Stagg. It's simply stunning. I also swear that I'm getting more than just a subtle passing of........blueberry? Delicious stuff. So, to tell the truth, as I must ammend my initial statement; I guess I'm finishing up the weekend with a solid pour....plus another. Mm my favourite of the Staggs I have tasted (all except 2002 and 2009). Leif
nor02lei
Yesterday I had OGD 114 both before and after dinner. Tasted very very well! Today I had uncut 9 years HH from Cadenheads and EC 12 before dinner. Stunning how woody the Cadenheads bottling are compared to the distillery bottling. After dinner I had Rare Breed 03. Ok but none of my favourite Turkeys and not at all as good as the current 8 years they sell here to my personal taste.Leif

smokinjoe
Going to catch the rest of MNF with an OGD BIB, Distilled Spring 1975-Bottled Fall 1982. As the Brownies are on tonight, those years make me remember the Kardiac Kids. They were in there, somewhere.

nor02lei
I did have JDSS before dinner and the same again + WT 101 from 1989 after dinner with black chocolate. A wile since I had the JD and it tasted very good. These old-time Turkeys always go well with black chocolate and so it did this time as well. Still the JD worked slightly better. smokinjoe
A 2002 OFBB, after dinner. Really, really, wonderful. One of the things I find so interesting (and adore) with the '02, is how it changes it's character with the setting or occasion. It just always seems to fit. Tuesday, after dinner. Friday at 5:00, after a long week. Sunday afternoon watching football. Saturday, before heading out to a party. Etc., etc. It never seems to be a disagreeable pour, at any time, for me. Rather, it always seems to perfectly hit the mark. It's strong, when it needs to be strong. It's subtle when it needs to be subtle. It's fun. It's demure. You can tailgate with it. You can take it to a black-tie event. It's a bourbon for all seasons. Is this perfection?

Pieface
Last night i paid OGD 114 a visit and rounded it off with a measure of RR101. It was a most enjoyable return to the fold after a couple of nights flirting with SMS.
funknik
I began with a little Dickel #8 last night which started out impressive, but was boring me by the end of the pour, so I switched to OGD114. That was okay, but not tickling me in quite the way I like to be tickled, so I switched again to Ancient Age BIB. Ba-bam! That was the ticket -- it was tasting just right in a way it hadn't before. In spite of myself, I did some serious damage to that bottle and stayed up way past my bedtime sipping and playing Madden 10. Thank goodness for coffee!
