smokinjoe
You have no idea Joe, you have no idea. And then there was my tipsy wife trying to seduce Jimmy Russell at the Sampler... That's OK. I've hugged Parker Beam so many times, he has a Restraining Order on me... Speaking of Mr. Beam, I'm totally diggin' on this EC18 right now. nor02lei
I did have quit a lot of whiskey yesterday. WT 8 export and Dickel CH and 8 before dinner. Then I had both WT 101 from 1989 and vintage 21 rye with the vintage black chocolate I had for dessert. A bit surprisingly the Turkey did go much better with the chocolate. It was probably due to the fact that the Turkey is much heavier and pungent in general I guess.Leif
smokinjoe
An absolutely glorious day here, today. And, it's spilling right on into the evening. Cooling down quickly, so I've go an awesome fire going in the outdoor fireplace, an Oliva O burning away, and an Old Charter Classic 90 in the glass. AHHH!!!! How can it get much better? Well, just as soon as I start sippin' on this WTRR 101, it will. Gotta go. More wood needed on the fire...
Josh
It's a great day here too. The Boilers won at the Big House for the first time since 1966 when the Greatest Quarterback of All Time was leading the charge. To celebrate, I cracked open my 1st 4R 40th anniversary. Definately live up to the hype. I'd still give the edge to the 2009, though. But not by much.
spun_cookie
WT 8 yr from 1977-79 era.... it is one of the oddities, but the 8 yr from 91-93 is the best that I have had... but I do have some from the early 70s and early and mid 80s I have not tried yet... a vertical is in order... ILLfarmboy
1999 Evan William's Single Barrel. I picked up a bottle as part of a gift pack today. Its very nice. I haven't had any of the EWSB iterations since the 1992 or 1993. That bottle got a very off bitter note when I left just a couple inches in the bottom for a few months. It turned me off the EWSB but the gift pack I got today was enough to get me to buy another bottle. I'm glad I did.
JamesW
Started with some WTRR90... a bit "thin" tonight. Decided to exorcise these demons with some PVW15. Ahhh... that's better! Just cracked this bottle and it is less woody than the last. My last bottle was oddly woody and while still great, quite different than the many Pappy 15's I've enjoyed. This one is a spot on regular ole' Pappy 15.
docbible
Drinking BTEC 93 and 97 double barreled and McScrooges weller antique 107. Brent picked out an awsome barrel. NAS on this one but probably the best antique weller that I have sampled. The younger double barrel is the better of the two and would have a chance on the production market. The other is a bit harsh for my palate. tim

I think that the last OWA he did was positively Awesome. I've called it my "New" Centennial. If it's better than that, then I'm All In. Thanks for the heads up, Tim. I got a case of the last, and on your rec I'll have to be looking at another case!

B3Nut
Enjoying a nice healthy pour of Old Forester BIB (early 90's dusty.) I like this juice, dark and rich with a roasted pecan+molasses thing going on...the nuttiness hangs on in the finish playing seesaw with the oak notes. spun_cookie
For Scott (Birdman), I pulled my Willet 27 yr (bottle 14 of 24, rumored to be SW) and 25 yr BevMo Chocolate Monster out for a tasting. The BevMo 25 yr is definitely HH, but it is nothing like other HHs I have had. It again grows into this complex chocolate cream whiskey monster that rides your pallet like a $10K Washington call girl. Just crazy and wild as your mind can imagine ... with none of the guilt of a high profile politician after being caught with it in your mouth :70358-devil: This 27yr Binny's short barrel is SW every day of the week... Fat and complex, but dry. Not something I would normally mix in a description, but the dryness does not overwhelm the breath that this juice brings to the table. It is not for the meek, but is for the "over the top, bourbon nut job" that is looking something in a classic 81ish distilled SW juice that will never be seen again. If there is another barrel of this out there, it will be over the top oakey... They pulled this one at the end of a useful life and I am glad to have it... and it's sister in the bunker... at 24 bottles in this bottling, this is a treasure. funknik
Last night was an effort to wring the last sips out of a few bottles to make room for some others in the cabinet.Started with a 4R1B -- which was very nice and woodier than I recall this expression to be (which was nice). Moved on to a Weller Special Reserve (which I think drinks well above it's $13 price tag) to make room for a bourbon crusade OWA I'm getting this week (which will probably mean I'll open a Lot 'B', too as I like those two pours in succession). Then I swallowed the last of a Fighting Cock to make room for an OGD 114 (which is one of my staples). I always like to have a high proof, bold rye recipe bourbon open and OGD 114 is usually the one, but this Cock was surprisingly good -- sweet, spicy, rich and robust -- great for a 6yr old. If I could get FC easier, I might keeping those around over the Grand Dad -- sorry, Basil.

You get a book deal and get to ridicule the upstanding folks, go on tour and make millions... you know... that is a lot of good bourbon coin.... nor02lei
Not much yesterday but a side by side with lot b and Weller 12 before dinner.
