The BevMo 25 yr is definitely HH, but it is nothing like other HHs I have had. It again grows into this complex chocolate cream whiskey monster that rides your pallet like a $10K Washington call girl. Just crazy and wild as your mind can imagine ... with none of the guilt of a high profile politician after being caught with it in your mouth :70358-devil:

I still have wet dreams about that bottle, it is definitely worth the 10 thousand dollars and the shameful end of a public servant's career.

Give me some more of that and let me go alone to Skid Road and I'll never bother anyone ever again.

You know that is not how it works. You get a book deal and get to ridicule the upstanding folks, go on tour and make millions... you know... that is a lot of good bourbon coin.... You want to run for office with me :skep:

Sure, our slogan can be "A bourbon in every pot and pot in every bourbon."

I like it... we can Distil he campaign to the important facts. Keep the American Spirit alive and have Proof that we care.:Clever:

OK, I'm a little over the half way mark in my 4 hour rib grillin'.

And it's after 12 noon, so I mixed up 3 parts WT Rare Breed 108.2 proof and 1 part WT 80 proof Old Brown label from the late '80's.

Help me out you mathematicians, does that calculate to 101.15 proof?

I'm sipping it neat, very good.

Oscar,

That's what I get as well. I'm about half way through doing the leaves. No WT or any other bourbon yet. Perhaps later if I don't go the local brewpub.

I missed the game today...I was out having a taco.

Hey, go easy on old Bob. All those years playing in Miami, he probably didn't have much contact with the hispanic community.:skep:

The blend of bourbons and straight ryes I brought to the last Gazebo, but since then I have added a number of whiskeys, mainly Bulleit, 4R SB 2009, some 1980's Forester and some current OF Signature. The old Venezuela rum I had added as a marrying agent is much diminished but still there. This all-straight whiskey blend is rich bodied but dryish, beautifully integrated and pure in flavour with a slight spicy accent from the Four Roses distillery whiskeys. It has a marmalade-like taste perhaps. I don't think I can make it better and so will stop. I view this as akin to a very good vatting (all-malt) of Scots whiskies.

Had been holding off for years from buying a bottle of Booker's as i'm not a huge Jim Beam advocate except for their rye, but i received a bottle as a gift recently and tried it over the weekend. I was expecting it to have quite a hot burn but i was pleasantly surprisingly at how smooth and easy it was to drink. Nice.

Yeah, it was 67 today here in Portland, Maine -- that's one lonely degree shy of the all-time record high for Maine in November. And the Patriots won today.

I celebrated by opening three new bottles today with a pour each . . . OGD 114, Dickel #8 (which surprised me -- very, very good) & a Lot 'B' from the last autumn release -- ok, I actually had a couple small pours from that bottle. The Lot 'B' has the best nose of any bourbon I can think of and man it tasted just amazing!

So now it's just the Russll's. A bit dull, but a pleasant pour. I used to really dig this rye, now I'm just meh.

Old Charter 10yo over cracked ice.

It's been ages since I picked up one of those, always been one of my faves. I better grab an OC 10 soon.

Dr. Entropy dropped by with some samples of this year's Saz18, ER17 & GTS. He also brought some Julio's OWA SB, which I am currently enjoying neat and earlier with a little water.

I did have small pours of EC 12, WTRRR and Kentucky gentleman 1970 before dinner yesterday. I must say that I have reviewed my opinion on RRR (partly due to oxidation I think) since I first tasted it. It’s still on the light easygoing side but not at all that bad as an aperitif/early on the evening pour. After dinner I had a Handy 2008 with a little water in it.

I had a 50ml pour of ORVW 10/107 while chatting with the guys last night...we're in there every night around 7pm if anyone is looking to shoot the shit for a while. There usually is a good bunch of guys in there...except for last night when we were joined by Clay. ;)

Bob, don't hate just because your jealous of my stunning good looks, and small bourbon collection.

I had a bit of my '97 EWSB last night as I need to finish that bottle to make room for the '00 offering.

The '00 is out in Lexington at least. Area Liquor Barn's should all have stock. I know that Beaumont does.

WTRRR before dinner. After dinner I had WT 101 bottled 1982 first neat, then with black chocolate and thereafter with nut ice cream. The Turkey was outstanding all together!
