jbare Posted November 9, 2000 Share Posted November 9, 2000 According to James Earl Dabney's book Mountain Spirits around 3/4 of George Washington's "campaign" budget in some Virginia township was for whiskey at the polling site. I can tell you I would have voted with far more enthusiasm had one (or more!!) of the candidates had 'treated.' This is a damn shame that venerated American traditions just fall by the wayside all in the name of enlightened progress. There's nothing strictly unconstitional about treating I maintain.
