Have any of you Scotch fans checked out Ralfy.com? I think this guy is an absolute jewel. Very entertaining and straight forward in his reviews.

Yes, I've seen most of his reviews. Very entertaining and informative.

I've watched a lot of his reviews and enjoyed them but certain things do get tiresome. Like his insistence on categorizing everything as either a malt or a blend, even when the whisky in question is neither (pure pot still). But overall he does a good job.

I always check Ralfy's site and/or Youtube to catch up on the reviews that I missed the first time around. He's a pleasant fellow, knowledgeable and entertaining in his low-key way, which makes him fun to watch when I have some free time on my hands.

Ralfy has started his bourbon reviews. Post # 155 3/3 is an overview

of 10 he's going to cover. First up was Elijah Craig 12 year and second

was Western Gold (which included a shout out to Chuck Cowdery.)

In his Review # 164 of Rittenhouse Rye, Ralfy gives a nod to SB.com at

about the 6:25 mark.

And at the 9:15 mark, he mentions adding a drop of Absinthe to your glass

of Rye to make a "concentrated Sazerac". Not sure what that's all about -

anyone else gonna try it?!...

I've actually done it before. I call it the lazy man's Sazerac. If I want to get that rye/Absinthe flavor but don't feel like muddling sugar, I'll do something quick like that (with a drop of Pechaud's as well).

Heh, no problem. I really enjoyed Ralfy's "Bourbon Break"

and hope he'll do some more. Maybe we could convince

him to sprinkle a few in between Scotch reviews...

Indeed, but I doubt you'll ever see him do too much on the subject going forward, with the pricing and availability he's seeing. I think he said that GTS is North of $300. $300!!! I doubt you could get a bottle of OWA over there if your life depended on it. Sounds like Bourbon in the UK = MM, JB, and basic BT....
