Oh, my...this Baby Saz is spectacular. :yum: Maybe, it's the prospects of the approaching Autumn on the horizon that is being suggestive, but the apple is just leaping out of this, tonight. Wow, this is delicious! I love this whiskey. Best "everyday" rye, IMO. Just $26, to boot. To me, possibly, BT's best bang for the buck.

I did have a little WT 8 export and OGD 114 yesterday from pocket bottles when visiting Stockholm. I had a doctors appointment early afternoon and made a bar roundabout afterwards. 6 bars and one restaurant to be exact.

Today I had Rittenhouse BIB before a dinner invitation to my mother and WT 8 export and WRMCSO afterwards.

VOBBIB. Another case down, another case purchased. This is the reason I don't raid the bunker more often. For $112/case, it's no wonder that I've been through 2 cases in the past 6 months.

Just finished my first taste of 1792 Ridgemont Reserve. I have to say that this is not bad neat. I would think it would make a good manhatten. A little orange peel and caramel on the nose with some rye spice on the palate. A shorter finish than I like.

OFBIB 1981...first pour off this bottle and it's a little tight...definitely butterscotch/maple on the nose...need to let this bottle sit for a couple weeks! :) Moved onto a ND 8/86 OGD that is off the hook good...man I gotta score some more of this juice!

Very Old Barton BIB over cracked ice.

Same here except for the ice coming out of my refrigerator as crushed. This and OGD 114 are the two bourbons, that on the rare occasions I use ice, work best for me with it.

Currently under the spell of Four Roses Single Barrel, I can't get enough of this fine bourbon

Last night temptation overpowered my reasoned judgment to not open any new bottles. I cracked the seal on a OGD BIB distilled 1972 and bottled 1981. While good by all accounts, it was a little tight in its approach....plenty of spice on the palate but the finish ended too quickly. I'm thinking this beauty will open up nicely. Second pour was a Bourbon Society FRSB done back in '07. Very tasty.

Makers 46... I think I'm still too new to appreciate this pour. It doesn't seem like anything real special to me..

Had a drink with The Boss a couple nights ago and the 2005 (Spring) Stagg is still a standout in my opinion. After tasting the recent years of Stagg I'd have to say there is little comparison the Spring '05 and IMHO it's probably the best of what I've tasted. (I haven't tasted 2004 nor Ky only 2005)

Well, the first one (2002 I think) was pretty good.

Still sampling this current Baker's and surprised how good it is. It has everything in it I liked before, and lacks what I didn't like. Only thing is the nose is very light, almost non-existent, but that doesn't matter really.

I have tasted all Staggs Christian, but not at the same time. I do believe I liked the 2004 best, but the circumstances surrounding may have effected me off cause, so I am not sure witch one I would like best if I had them all in front of me.

Finished off my first bottle of EWB, neat then a sour with lots of ice. (Still hot here yesterday.) This really is a good value, I think, and since BevMo is selling the 1.75L for 13.99 I think I'm going to restock. Today.

We did a virtcle of them all through 08 a while back ago.

I ranked for the top 3:

o 2003

o 2004

o 2005 KY only

Not that any are bad, some are just much better.

I do believe I liked the 2004 best, but the circumstances surrounding may have effected me off cause, so I am not sure witch one I would like best if I had them all in front of me.
