dmarkle
Just a little bit of the George T Stagg. No water. If you're going to sign up for a 142 proof whiskey, you've signed up for a 142 proof whiskey, I say. Just drink it sloooooooooooooow.

matthew0715
Enjoying some V.O.B. B.i.B. on the R.O.C.K.S. Damn this is great whiskey. Let's hope we begin to see some more expressions now that Saz is running the show.
spun_cookie
Sorry to quote myself, but this stuff is damn good! It's from DSP-354. I noticed someone posted something about 354 being better than 414 or the other way around. What are the differences?
nor02lei
I had ORVW 10/107 2002 before dinner yesterday, Blanton’s silver after and JDSS with the late red current pie for dessert. Long time since I had a Blanton’s and it tasted slightly better than I did remember.Leif
cigarnv
Enjoying a few pours of the EBSG Four Roses (OBSK) from 2009. Excellent bottling. Finished up a 2002 OWA......

unclebunk
Had a few pours of AAA 10 Year Old (not the 10 Star) last night and was somewhat underwhelmed for some reason. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed to be running a tad hot and was more astringent than when I drank it last. But a drop of water did the trick, so all was well in the end. spun_cookie
Both are good but 414 (L'ville) has a buttery quality to it that is lacking in 354 (Shively). Both are good (I have two BIBs open; one from each distillery) and I like them very much but to me 414 edges out 354. Roger did a good job running through the packaging history here.Err.. yup.. sorry I meant 414....

Josh
More expressions? I think what 's needed are different age expressions, not the same 6yo whiskey at 80, 86, 90 and 100 proof. As it is, it makes even less sense than ORVW 10yo at 90 and 107 proof. I thought one of Van Winkle's quotes regarding their higher proof was, "Why spend money shipping water around the country?" Gillman
Vatting of ND OGs (different proofs), 1960's decanter Beam and 1968 bonded I.W. Harper. About 3:1:1. Rocks and a dash water due to the 100 F heat in these parts. This is a mellow blend indeed, with a round brandy-like finish. Notes of dark peach preserve and maple syrup. Some of this might make it to Doug's porch party and Saturday GN gazebo.Gary

ggilbertva
An '07 Bourbon Society FRSB. Even though this is the normal recipe, it's better than the normal shelf offering I have open.
SBOmarc
Mid bottle Wild Turkey Tribute. Still a stellar pour and bittersweet...that when it is gone...it really can't be replaced. Enjoying the classic Turkey up front taste and burn.

smokinjoe
Just purchased today in my travels, a solid hit of BHC VSOF 12 yr in my hotel room. Stellar. Better than I remember my last bottle. Going to mix a dab later with a Blenheim "Hot" Ginger Ale just for kicks. Couldn't resist the billboard for a store in Gaffney SC (Home of the "Big Butt" ) that had the "hot" version of Blenheim's. Picked up another Tradition as well, but I'll hold off opening this one for a little while.

nor02lei
I had Blanton’s silver before dinner yesterday. It tasted better than the day before with lots of bitter sweet kind of orange zest with some white left on it. Very refreshing and absolutely the best Blanton’s I have had. I guess that’s part of the meaning with single barrels to be different from earthother. After dinner I had OGD114 and JDSS with the late red current pie for dessert.Leif
